There were a ton of people touting him back then, it just didn't correlate to general players. He only slipped through the cracks for people that weren't following all the articles saying not to sleep on him.

So the Lions played awful Defence for the first two weeks to lull the Patriots into a trap?

I’m so sad I sold Golladay for a First a few weeks ago. That dude is looking like one of the best young WRs from the last few draft classes.

Possibly even the WR2 from 2017/2018. Would you rather have Golladay or Corey Davis?

I'd like to know what a "work horse build" is, or how you know such things? You have a source?

Emmitt Smith 5′9″ 210 lbs
Walter Payton 5′10″ 200 lbs
Barry Sanders 5′8″ 200 lbs
Curtis Martin 5′11″ 210 lbs

These guys are in the hall of fame and held up just fine. What is Kerryon? 6'0" 205? 210?

He's not taking the same hits that he did in college. I wrote a lengthy reply somewhere explaining the hits he took then, and how he's absorbing the blow today. He's learning how to get tackled and save his body in the process. Damn fine coaching by the Lions staff.

Fournette is 6'1" 228 lbs. He doesn't seem to be holding up well and I'd argue that he probably has this so-called "work horse build".
Ok all of those backs you listed played in a very different NFL than today. The fields are designed for faster play, the defenders are bigger than they have ever been. Despite that there will always be exceptions to every rule whether its Fournette or Martin. I will say again, I like Johnson. I think hes fun to watch and hes good at football. But ideally, to log work horse touches and be able to do that over a 16 game season I like my RBs to be above 30 BMI. The ideal build is 5'11" - 6' tall and 220+. Running back is a brutal position to play. Johnson runs a bit to high and he has a leaner frame. Injuries can be somewhat predictable such as with Fournette. But they can also be completely out of left field like Derrius Guice torn ACL.

I want Johnson to have a long career. If I owned him I would be very happy with a steady usage of about 15 touches per game.

Man I know it's only week 3 and they always find a way to turn things around, but is this finally the end of the Bill/Tom Dynasty? Yes, the AFC East is weak and they are the masters of adjusting on the fly, but Detroit was awful defensively the first two weeks. 100 yards for Brady? And Week one the Jets lit them up at home and just lost to the Browns/Dolphins in consecutive weeks. I hate using NFL Math, as this week really showed the craziness that happens between 7 days or less, but this feels like the end is really creeping up quickly. No, I would not put my money on it.

I thought long and hard about taking KJ at 1.2 after Guice's injury, almost went with Penny instead. Bullet dodged.

Just look at Peterson's statline today and imagine it being better if Guice was playing. Im gonna go fantasize about fantasy.

Not at all a knock on Diggs, but I think I’d take Guice/Golladay. Golladay has as good a chance as any to be the next great big young WR. Although, he’s actually NOT that young.

I got Guice at 1.5, too. :)

Green Bay's D-line is currently a problem. They have little edge threat and not much interior push. I'm not terribly surprised old man Peterson had room to run.
