Maybe its an early season mirage. However the Bengals are now 2-0 - still with Marvin Lewis as HC.

Here is the thread from the off-season that had some calling for his head.

Yes, Buck Allen did get a 1 yard td as well last week. Goal line backs don't have to be in the Bettis mold. He's small and can find the hole for one yard. He had a couple of those last year too IIRC. Going to be a headache owning both Collins and Allen it seems.

13 touches in the 1st half is a pretty solid number, especially since he missed a series or two when he went to the locker room for a bit.
Should have clarified. I wanted touches in the passing game.

I didn’t see last weeks game, but the Bengals usage of Mixon seem a lot like last year ... Gio’s usage is 50-50 run-pass. Mixon’s is more like 90-10. If they designed more pass plays for him, he’d be so much more effective. As good as he is as a receiver, it’s mind boggling that they don’t throw to him more.
IIRC, last week Gio had 1 carry and 1 target (for 1 reception). The rest of the RB workload was Mixon’s.
The standard is the standard.

I think I sold him a year too early...and by sold I mean dropped him to make room for my round 3 or 4 rookie pick. Hmm...not looking so smart at the moment.

And the worst thing is that I really like him as a player, but injuries soured me on him a bit. And then going to the Ravens was the nail in the coffin.

Seems like I was wrong on both counts...and my team is hurting for a WR3.

right, not being an expert on the Ravens I just assumed it was Collins.

Reports this summer had him as number 1. Adp was way wrong this year. Why was he that low and Marquise Goodwin rated so highly?

Well they just used him in short yardage on the goal-line....
Did they do that week 1? Did they do that last year? did they do that for every short yardage attempt this game? One short yardage try does not make him their "short yardage and goalline guy".
Yes, Allen has been the 1A to Collins’ 1B in terms of goal line touches over the past year.

with starters playing so little in preseason it was impossible to know how to accurately judge guys coming off injury marred seasons. I don't think guys like Enunwa or Jordan Reed played a snap in the preseason.

Odd how many times Mixon had to exit and re-enter the game...hopefully, nothing serious but he looked decent yesterday all things considered. Had 2-3, 7-10 yard runs negated due to penalties which would have put him over the century mark, kinda annoying.
