Amari vs Marvin

Postby gmoftheyear » Fri Aug 03, 2018 6:26 am

I may have an opportunity to acquire Amari a little cheaper then normal after the season he had last year. I currently have Marvin Jones who had a decent 2017 in a good offense. Trying to figure if Gruden coming in will elevate Amani this year or should I hang tight with Marvin Jones as my #2 at the moment. Which guy do you see scoring more tds this year? Also, I have Golladay waiting in the wings who I plan on bringing along as a future piece. Hanging onto 2 Lions at the same position may limit me some. Anyway, who you got Amari or Marvin for 2018?

2018 Production = Toss-up / anyone's guess. Does Cooper rebound to stud status? Does Marvin Jones maintain his high-level production from 2017? Does Golladay emerge as a real threat to Jones' production?

Overall Dynasty Value = Cooper by a decent amount still. I think it's safe to say last year was Cooper's floor and Jones' ceiling (or very close to it). This is a great opportunity to buy low & sell high.

I thought this was going to be a conoarison of stats through this point in their careers between marvin HARRISON and amari. Marvin jones doesnt deserve to be mentioned in the same conversation. Take cooper

Cooper over Jones easily in Dynasty. I think Coop outscores him this year, too, but it's an easy trade to make.

It’s not close. Cooper. When Golladay plays Jones is a flex option at best.

Marvin is underrated up the yazoo-- he's very talented and has always scored TDs. In a 0 PPR I like him more than Cooper this year and next. If it's a real short term window you care about, Marvin is the guy, but if you have dynasty aspirations beyond 2019 (most would) I would take Cooper in a 1 for 1 without hesitation. I also think Cooper is garbage!

I don’t think it’s too close on overall value, but only due to age.

Cooper and jonesy have pretty much identical stats if you look at a three year average the last three.

I disagree it’s a sell high time for jones, he’s undervalued if you ask me. Also in my leagues, Cooper isn’t any sort of a nice buy low, he’s still valued pretty highly.

So to answer directly, it depends what you need to add to jones to snag cooper

1st - wrong forum
2nd - I don't care how low someone is on Cooper or high on Jones, Cooper >> Jones in dynasty.

I probably think Cooper is more overrated than anyone here. I also think Jones is very underrated.

However, the value is easily on the Cooper side.

Because these are so easy to predict, also they get Golladay back. Look at Jones splits with and without Golladay
