In my opinion great trade up for Guice as well. Hurst went a bit high, love Tre'quan Smith in the 4th. Miller, Gallup and Washington in the mid 3rd range is decent.

So we had 2 teams drop before the draft. (that we were able to find owners for) A 3rd team said he would also like to drop out if we could find a replacement. We couldn't. So he was staying in 1 more year. His brother is also in the league. One of them is really into it. The other, its more of a hobby.

So everything is going along smoothly. And we are at pick 1.6, Moe the guy who wanted to drop takes TE - Hayden Hurst. What? Ok, we have our first crazy pick but maybe he really likes the guy. So now his brother Charlie is on the clock.

Charlie sends to Moe:
Pick 1.7, 2019 3rd round, and the Arizona Cards defense.

Moe sends to Charlie:
Pick 3.5, 2019 1st round, 2019 2nd round, 2020 1st round

Remember, Moe is planning on dropping the next year. And after taking Hayden Hurst with his first pick at 1.6 he now wants pick 1.7 so badly he thinks he needs to give up 2019 1st and 2nd and a 2020 1st.

So yeah, the league is blowing up about this bogus trade. (Side note: Its a contract league and the Cards defense is being WAY over paid, so giving them up is actually a salary dump for Charlie) I told the Commish, look, I hate veto's and votes but I suspect you will have a huge issue trying to get someone to take over that team if Moe drops. Commish over rules the trade and there is like 5 hours worth of drama, name calling, etc.

Anyway, after all the drama settles we finish the draft over the next couple days. About 10-15 trades happen. It was crazy.

I actually don't think it was a crazy deal - aside from having taken Hurst at 6... Rojo and a salary dump for 2019 and 2020 1st isn't unheard of.

Him taking Hines at 9 too is stupid... but that's just my opinion lol

Commish just veto'ed it. No votes, we don't have a vote process.

Personally, I'd let the trade stand if he was willing to stay or be financially responsible for the team in the event an owner to replace him could not be found.

They also made a rule that you could no longer trade picks 2 years out. No biggie since that was the first time anyone has ever done it anyway.

Well that's the thing as well. The trade for Moe to get to 1.7 was nixed by commish. So a different guy ended up with it and took Rojo. The guy was going to end up with it, Moe, ended up with 1.9 somehow and took Nyheim Hines , so was Hines going to be his pick all along at 1.7? Hurst and Hines, that's crazy talk man.

The dynamics are kind of crazy in that, Charlie and Moe are bothers.
Charlie is super into fantasy, Moe, it's a very part time hobby.

Being brothers they talk a lot. And everyone speculates Charlie will intestinally throw Moe off. Like we know he's (Charlie) has been talking to others about how Hurst is the next Gronk in his opinion. So intentional or not, Moe hears Charlie say things like this, then ends up over drafting guys based on what he heard.

Easy solution- require him to pay for future years when he trades those picks. If he only wants to pay for 2029, not 2020, can only trade 2019 picks. If he does leave, allows commish to offer team at a discount.
