players you can't buy

Postby Pullo Vision » Sat May 05, 2018 11:03 am

Seems a bunch of people are gunning for for Barkley but the price is too high. I went after Mixon in one of my leagues. My offers were rejected and he said he wouldn't trade Mixon in a deal based on my Player A or B. I asked what would work for him, but he couldn't think of a player or package that get him to think of dealing Mixon.

Curious what other players people have tried to buy but couldn't.

Todd Gurley. He ran opposing teams through a buzz saw during fantasy playoffs and championships. Hes untouchable in my league.

I got Mixon for 1.7 and 2019 1st for what it's worth.

My super flex russel Wilson shares. My QB1 and one of the guys in play at any pick overall but consistently valued as a late first startup

It would take a lot to get Gurley. I already have extra picks. The guy that has 1.01 in our draft already has 3 1sts. I chuckled a little when the reigning winner told me he was gonna trade up to get Barkley.

I traded 1.02 for Mixon and didn't think for a minute I could trade up to 1.01. I'm gonna Billy Beane this draft.

Barkley. Two leagues where I owned Zeke, neither would even do it straight up. I won't pay more than that. I ended up dealing Zeke for much better value elsewhere in both leagues.

JuJu-Love JuJu, but I won't pay the asking price for a flanker that sits behind AB and Bell in the pecking order.

Gurley- As stated above. Bad time to buy. Like buying DJ after his huge year. The time to buy Todd was after year 2. Window is closed for any sort of value. I hate making trades of multiple good pieces for 1 elite piece. I don't think it makes a better team, more often than not.

Yep, and I even argued we need to adjust down their points because they score too much and there's not enough good ones.

In start 2-3 RB leagues, the good ones give you an enormous edge compared to all other positions. The bell curve is hilarious.

Problem is, you can't just nerf the good ones, right? So this problem of supply and demand for good RBs will likely never go away, regardless of scoring system.

Huh- what'd you end up dealing Zeke for?

Great call about Juju. I tried to get him in my sig league, but the owner had a big RB need. Dealt Antonio Brown and Cooks for Michael Thomas, Duke Johnson and 1.10.

Good call on these two. Saw Howard traded recently and different owner has been shopping McCoy. On the other hand, nobody wants to come near my Ingram.

But yeah, nobody is coming off any other RB.

In the two leagues I am in I can’t touch Cooper. He hasn’t been that impressive to me anyways but I think maybe their owners have soured a little bit. Nope!! They always remember the 200 yard 2 TD game but forget all his other crappy games. I don’t know of anybody that won a championship last year with that guy.

Michael Thomas. I can't get owners to deal him for anything.

This thread is mis-titiled.
It should be retitled "Players that you refuse to acquire because their owners won't sell them for quarter their value".
I offered an RB needy team Zeke for Diggs, Mixon, and 1.3 to one team and for Corey Davis and Dalvin Cook to another, and got told to pound sand by both.
There's a few unreasonable sellers out there on these players but most of the sellers are reasonable, it's the buyers that are out of their minds.
PSA - Haggling is NOT the same as negotiating.
