Is Martavis Bryant a clear dynasty cut as of today? I'd like to hear what his suspension is before I cut him, but he NFL is painfully slow in announcing these suspensions.

I honestly think so yes - I would be very surprised if his suspension was less than a year. He'll be 27 or older, and not likely to find a home (if at all) as positive as could have been in Pittsburgh or Oakland.

Only in deep leagues (ie 16 teams or 30man rosters) would I consider stashing him still long term. However if you can wait until news on whether the suspension becomes official I dont see an issue - just dont see many teams holding him past Week 1-2 once in-season waivers open and new diamonds in the rough show up.

Well yeah. He was a headcase that never put together a full productive season. With how closely these teams guard their draft picks and the value they put on them it wasn't cheap at all for a giant question-mark.
To be clear, I was on the side of the Raiders overpaying for Martavis pre-suspension, but it was related to his suspension risk, not his talent. Obviously it’s a moot point now, but the reason a 3rd was paid for him was the contract years and salary points I noted earlier.
I was a supporter of Bryant b/c I never thought someone would f’up their last chance so badly. But given Randy Gregory’s likely new suspension, Josh Gordon’s relapse & Bryant ... I don’t think I’ll ever touch a indefinite suspension guy again. For the life of me, I can’t understand the stupidity of these guys on their last chance. When given the choice of million & security for your family vs. a one night high ... I have no sympathy for this level of stupidity.

So is Bryant officially suspended? Last I saw he was appealing it, but haven't heard much on it since then. Usually we know everything about the suspension within a day or two. Raiders said they cut him because he didn't regularly practice. I am not willing to cut him until I know for sure he's suspended.

Apparently Gruden is open to having Bryant back down the road (assuming the suspension is appealed)

I cut him for Richie James. Appeal or not, the Raiders cut him. I'm not wasting a roster spot on this moron.

Is he a FA or would he be under contract with the Raiders still? If he's cut, isn't he a FA?

Pretty sure he was released a week ago. Looming suspension was an aspect but it was primarily everything else. So many reports since he joined the Raiders of poor play, inability to pick up the playbook, etc.

He was cut, but Gruden’s willingness to bring him back are basically empty words. They wouldn’t have dropped him if he wasn’t going to be suspended. When he is, he’ll never plan another NFL snap

Apparently he is facing a year-long suspension, not indefinite.

I just saw that report. If true, I’m wondering how it’s possible that a player with previous indefinite suspension wouldn’t get at least another indefinite suspension if not an outright ban? Any rules experts know?

Yeah, the Raiders were open to bringing him back, supposedly.

So no suspension? These pending NFL suspension are ridiculous. How long does it take to make a decision? I still say it's not outrageous to think Martavis is the most talented Raider WR.
