Re: GEDL Early Rookie Draft 2018
And wasn't there some drama a few years back, with one poster saying this wasn't the forum for such a thread? Maybe even was the Coogster? Almost derailed things.
Really looking forward to the draft. Would be great if you could tell your league members to comment on their draft picks. Usually it happens for the top 10 picks or so, then they just pick without much commentary. Think that's kinda sad when there's a real audience following along (including those of us who review prior years picks and comments).

Yeah there was one guy last year who was on crusade to make sure Nobody talked about our draft. I considered not posting it this year but realized way more people enjoy it than don't.Cult of Dionysus wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 8:08 pm And wasn't there some drama a few years back, with one poster saying this wasn't the forum for such a thread? I'll pass along your comment regarding the draft comments
Re: GEDL Early Rookie Draft 2018
Agreed. I love reading the draft comments, as it gives some perspective why they picked the guy. Usually it doesn't matter to much for the top picks as they are obvious, but once you get past the mid first, there are always surprises and it's nice to hear what the owner was thinking!MARKinMI wrote: ↑Tue Apr 10, 2018 9:14 pmYeah there was one guy last year who was on crusade to make sure Nobody talked about our draft. I use this draft to start slotting rookies into tiers before my own rookie draft.

Re: GEDL Early Rookie Draft 2018
did their value go up to $2!!!
yeah...we are in pure hail mary territory with this year's draft lol
but, you know, that's one of the strengths and beauties of this format. contrary to popular belief it actually provides increased opportunities for rebuilding in the otherwise dead portions of a draft. some of those ridiculously late and otherwise totally worthless picks can provide real value.
i'm not optimistic but...i'll be hitting the scratch-offs like there's no tomorrow.

Re: GEDL Early Rookie Draft 2018
You'll probably hit with at least one of those picks. Remember its nothing for a guy to be drafted in rounds 4 or 5 and move up to the 2nd round in later rookie drafts. We have a history of mining value in rounds 4-6. With that many bullets I'd bet you hit on somethingGoirish374 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 11, 2018 10:40 amdid their value go up to $2!!!

Mark, could you post a link to your other leagues? Keen to see what else you run.
Re: GEDL Early Rookie Draft 2018
I am Kent Crush. I won a set of late seconds 2.10 and 2.12. I hope to get some depth with those picks. Also, I own a few 4s. We shall see how this goes. I think my team is in a good position to compete this year. I was 5th without OBJ last year.

Re: GEDL Early Rookie Draft 2018
Maryland Uprising checking in here. I was Maryland Mutiny in years past, just thought a new name change was needed to inject some life into my team.
Last year I added Fournette, Davis, Mixon and Kamara to my squad and I hope to get more of the same this year.
I did manage to suck and earn the 1.03, missed out on the 1.01 but also picked up what turned out to be the 1.02 last off-season.
I entered this off-season with the 1.07 and 1.09, but traded the 1.07 for T.Y. Hilton and the 1.09 for a future 1st, same owner as the 1.09 this year so I’m kicking the can down the road another year.
I had the worst WR production in the league last year and believe Hilton and Davis should improve significantly on their 2017 numbers. Having Fournette, Kamara, Mixon and Henry should give me a huge advantage over the rest of the league. Also in 2019 the league is adding a flex so I’ll be able to start 4.
Anyways I’ll be back shortly, I have a few other 2nd’s but I’m likely to make some moves.

Re: GEDL Early Rookie Draft 2018
Liking the comments, its nice to see how others are thinking while making their picks. Its one thing to say you would take a certain player at a certain pick, then to actually take that player and comment on why really helps to see what that person sees. Its also crazy to see in a 14 team league how many picks have been traded, and some a couple of times already. In my leagues I definitely don't see that many picks traded.
