Tevin Coleman

I missed the news about Atlanta not wanting to trade Coleman when it came out. Did a quick search and didn't see a recent thread specifically about Coleman.

What's everyone's opinion/outlook here? I was really hoping that he would be dealt away this year, preferably to SF, to get a gig of his own. SF obviously isn't happening and looks like he won't be traded at all. Freeman's contract will be impossible to get out of and I don't think they will pay them both, so Atlanta's just going to let Coleman walk for nothing after 2018? Sure, they'll get a compensatory pick, but I doubt it would be a 3rd rounder because RB contracts aren't generally that rich. Way too early to even speculate where he will end up so I don't know what I expect to hear. Guess I just came to express my shock/frustration...

I would imagine one way or another he's on another team next year. I think you hold him until then, unless he's included in a big trade

Im holding on to him, traded away Edelman and Sanders for Tevin and a 2019 second round pick, Im loving the trade now.

Maybe Atlanta decides to trade him during the draft. Odds are they'll hold onto him and look to make another SB run. I decided to trade for him earlier in the week. A 2019 1st (likely worth 7-10, it belongs to the defending champ) for Coleman.

He is a hold for me especially PPR leagues. Whenever Freeman goes down he has shown he can be in RB1 land. I don't think Atlanta is stupid enough to let him go considering his contract is cheap.

I drafted him knowing I would have to wait for a Freeman injury or the end of Coleman's contract to see a return.

If you get on the train to Chicago you do not get off in Pittsburgh.

He's not... that good. He has a poster of Lamar Miller on his wall.

With the influx of talent at the position over the past few years I feel like he may always be part of a committee. I would sell if someone in my league sees it otherwise.

Said every Ben Tate and CMike owner. Coleman isn’t a lead back, if you can get a mid first for him take it.

I wouldn't say that, When the falcons drafted him he was suppose to be the starter, and then Freeman blossomed in the falcons system. I still feel if Tevin landed a starting job he could be a top 20 fantasy back, heck hes doing it in a part time role. Possibly spots for next season could be (pre draft speculations)
Washington, Baltimore, Broncos, Lions, Green Bay, Colts, Miami, Giants, Raiders, Seattle, Tampa.

as I said this is predraft, I may even throw the Jets in there depending what Crowell does this year.

of course is someone is willing to give you good value...you always take it lol

"FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn knows if a concussion sidelines running back Devonta Freeman for an extended period of time, he has a guy in Tevin Coleman more than capable of handling the load.

Coleman, the third-year player from Indiana, is like having another starter in the arsenal anyhow. In fact, he was the starter at the beginning of his rookie season in 2015, when Coleman and Freeman both dealt with preseason hamstring injuries but Coleman recovered faster"

I thought the reason Freeman got the nod (and that early season explosion) is because Coleman got hurt?
