Can you imagine what will happen should Barkley's talent turn out to be somewhat less than "generational"?

There will be more crying-in-your-beer threads on the boards than I could possibly conceive.

I disagree. Saquon doesn't have to be generational to be considered worth 1st round startup value. Above average production for his career would be worth it if he gives 5-7 years worth.

Yeah because as we regularly see, people around here have patience to wait 5-7 years to make an assessment

He needs to hit generational talent status by year two minimum or everyone will lose it.

This kind of stuff makes me want to throw up. I can't believe a guy not on a team yet is commanding the #1 overall dynasty player. This reeks of throwup and regret.

RB- Montgomery, RoJo, Lindsay, Michel, Gurley, Vaughn, Foreman

TE- Kelce, Ertz
Picks 1.11, 2.04, 2022 1st

Ehhhh thats giving the dynasty community a lot of credit. If Barkley doesnt hit by week 3 the internet will go nuclear.

The thing I don't get is that the prices some of these people are paying are for what would amount to what Barkley is worth in the absolute best case scenario.

As in, even IF Barkley ends up in a great spot and proves that he is indeed a top 3 fantasy producer in this league for years to come, then some of these team managers have basically just managed to break even, or perhaps won their trade by a tiny amount, because they paid ridiculous amounts (OBJ +, really?) to begin with.
Since there is always a non 0% chance that Barkley does not manage to fulfill expectations however (just like with every rookie), I feel like a lot of these trades just don't make any sense at all. I mean, some people here are paying top 3 dynasty assets in the hope of getting a player that may turn out to be... a slightly younger top 3 asset? I just don't get it.

Last week in one of my leagues a team gave up 1.06, 1.12, 2.07, 2019 1st, 2019 2nd, Jerick McKinnon and Tyler Eifert for 1.01

As a 1.1 owner, I would need Bell+a young WR like Nuk, maybe a few early picks, to move Saqoun. I mean he is this years generational talent.
