What would it take to move up from 1.02 to 1.01 ?

Postby cazzie33 » Mon Jan 01, 2018 11:10 am

Sitting with the 1.02 and really wanting Saquon. If you has the 1.01 would the 1.02 and Marvin Jones do it ? 1.02 & 2019 1st ?

Or just sit tight and see where top rookies land ?

Might not like Barkley's new home, especially if Guice ,Chubb, R. Jones get a perfect/much better fit.

It all depends on teams. I have the 1.01 but RB has been my biggest weakness for the past few years, so for me it'd take alot for me to move the 1.01, otherwise might do it for less.

Also I am a believer in his talent so it doesn't matter where he goes I want Barkley over Guice, Love, Freeman, Chubb and Jones but if landing spot and immediate opportunity might mean more for you then definitely sit tight. Draft picks are only going to increase in value, you'll get a lot more after the combine and the draft than you will today. right now patience is a virtue and simply sitting tight will only make your pick worth more. Yes, it's hard to be patient, but probably the best idea for now.

Both of those would be overpays IMO.

You won’t get Saquan without overpaying. It would take both the 1.02/1.09 and maybe something else to be honest. I’m not saying he is/isn’t worth that, but that’s what it will take.

I asked the guy who holds the 1.01 what he wants for it and his only response was Gurley. Anybody drafting at 1.01 likely has a bad team, and there’s no way they are giving up a prospect like Saquan without a substantial overpay.

i dont think either deal would get it done but i would try the 1.02 and the 2019 1st (but only if you dont anticipate finishing with a top 3 pick once you add a stud rb)
team 1
12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Rivers , Rosen, Fitzpatrick, Tyrod
Kamara, McCoy, D FreemanCohen, Bibbs, Clement,J. Allen, ty mont,Ito Smith
K Allen, Hopkins, M Williams, AROB Alshon,KeKe,MVS,T McLaurin
Ebron Graham, Njoku, Irv

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Trubitsky, Dak
Chubb,Mixon, D Henry,Coleman, D Harris, Armstead, Mostert
Hopkins, K Allen, M Evans, C Davis, Watkins, Arob, M Williams, Edleman, J Gordon, Hurd
Ertz, Everett, Fant

I think since our team lead the lg in points scored and have depth to weather an injury or two that works against the 2019 first rd pick. Should be 1.08-1.12 range which is why we'd rather trade it than Marvin. But you never know and owners love the phrase"first rd pick"

Most 1.01 or Barkley owners in devy leagues will value him relatively equal to Gurley/Bell/DJ/Fournette/Zeek, so expect to pay that kind of price if you want anybody to give him up.

Some will argue Barkley hasn't stepped foot onto a field yet and he shouldn't be in that top tier yet, while others will argue Barkley is actually a better prospect than many of the guys in the top tier.

WR: AJ Green | Tyreek Hill | TY Hilton | Stefon Diggs | Watkins | Mike Williams
TE: Ebron | Reed | Rico

So then I guess the question is ; What's the value of the 1.02 ? If Saquon is in the elite tier already regardless of knowing his destination where does the second best option in the draft fall in relationship ? And what would it take for you to bridge the gap?

If trying to pinpoint values relative to players already in the NFL, I'd say it is close to:

Saquon/1.01 = Zeek Elliot after he was drafted by the cowboys-like value (late 1st-mid 2nd start up)

Guice/1.02 = about the same as the CMC/Cook/Mixon tier last year (3rd round start up)

I don't think I'd be all that open to dropping from 1.01 to 1.02 right now to be honest. I think the only way Id move off the 1.01 is if it was for an established stud at WR etc

Excellent, that's the kind of analysis I'm looking for. That's right in line with what I was thinking. Just a question of if Marvin is studly enough, which so far the feedback says no mostly.(jk, I know you meant getting an OBJ, Antonio, Evans type )

I may, but don't think so. I've watched more Saquan and have known he'd be special since august of 16. I'm just saying I wouldn't pay those prices, that's all.

I wouldn't pay. I'm probably in the minority, but I'm sitting at 1.02 and will take Chubb with no qualms.
