Shrinking a league

Postby nathanq42 » Thu Nov 02, 2017 9:58 am

Hello gentlemen,

There are a couple owners in my 12 team league that are very inactive. Their teams are basically worthless outside of their own picks, alshon, dak, russ, kelce landry adams.

How should I go about shrinking the league? we have always had a problem with finding the last two to make it a 12 team league (the last commissioner just HAD to make it 12 teams at the cost of quality... -_- )

Thanks in advance

Dissolve the teams and add their players to the FA/Rookie draft next year would be the easiest thing to do.

This would be the fairest option probably.

A 10 team league takes a lot of the challenge out as there are just too many good players available. If you're looking for 2 competitive owners to take over, one of my buddies and I might be interested. Send me a PM.

Replace the owners, I wouldn't want to go lower than 12 myself ..

I'd do everything I could to save the 12 teams. I don't like leagues with fewer.

With that said, if you do lose the teams, I like the idea of a separate draft of the teams' players. The worst remaining team gets first pick, second worst get the next, etc. That would certainly help make the weak teams stronger. If you fear that doing this would swing the balance of power, then just make it a round or two and add the remaining teams to the FAs.

What's the issue with those 2 owners? If they're not setting their lineups, that's a different story, but not being very active is no reason to kick someone out.

And adding a second flex would also be a good idea.

I don't like leagues smaller than 16 teams. But yes, having 100% very active owners is definitely a continuous challenge.
The standard is the standard.
