I have to admit, after reading the debate this made me laugh.

I'm not going to rehash the arguments made earlier, but with regard to sliding I really think this is something that QB's could practice a bit and improve on. A dual-sport athlete like Russell Wilson already knows how to slide properly from his years of baseball, and he's very good at it on the football field.

Why then couldn't NFL teams at least bring in someone to coach these QB's just a little bit in camp, or OTA's so that they at least learn proper technique for an athletic move they're going to be attempting in games? Seems weird to me. It's not that hard to learn to slide, as anyone of us who ever played baseball knows. Seriously.

In this particular scenario, Flacco was clearly trying to get the 1st down which is why his slide was so stupid looking.

What I want to know is...

The Cat: Buy, Sell, or Hold?

Great juke rate and shuttle but I don't know about the long speed or the ability to take a hit.

This was the worst week 8 thread ever. 300 posts about a slide on an fantasy irrelevant player anyway.

Can we talk about Jay Ajayi and what he is worth moving forward? I wouldn't pay any 18 first round pick. A day 3 running back who had a few huge games last year and otherwise has been a fantasy zero. He's actually hurt your lineup most weeks this season.

How about alex collins? He's been super efficient this year with his opportunity. A huge prospect at Arkansas fell in draft big time because of one of the worst combines you will ever see. He seems pretty good to me. By no means a special talent or even a good one for that matter. But he has a chance to have a couple year run here as mainly a two down back. I am interested for a late second.

Like to know what peoples thoughts are on these running backs going in two separate directions!

So can we bring up who the real winner of W8 is? The Jags, getting Marcel Dareus for a 6th round pick. I don't know why some other team didn't call before them. I can't think of a team that couldn't use some pass rush on the interior for that cheap of a price. Granted, they are still having to pay him like 10m a year, but still...
QB: Brees, Ryan
RB: J.Taylor, K.Hunt, R.Jones, Dillon, McKinnon
WR: D.Adams, T.Hill, A.Rob, Lockett, Anderson, P.Campbell, C.Samuel
TE: Kittle, Olsen, D.Sample
DL: Ngakoue, E.Griffen, J.Sweat, Bowser
LB: Mosley, D.Jones, Warner, Treviathan, R. Evans, Okereke, M.Harrison

I bought them both for team 1 this morning.

Bought low on Ajayi for a pair of 2nds - thrilled to only pay that. He's a stud and has looked good all year, he's just stuck on a deplorable team.

Sent away J-Matt and took a chance on Collins as well... he looked legit good last night. Maybe not incredible, but definitely good

I believe the main reason they grabbed him is to help their run D. Their pass rush is already quite good, but will also only get better.

Gase thinks Ajayi is trying to hit home runs on each play, which clearly isn't a good recipe for a solid run game. Their line isn't doing a good job either. I think you also have to wonder how much of a concern Ajayi's knees are still, which clouds long-term vision.

He did a little too much stutter-stepping sometimes, but I didn't see him giving up yards to try and hit home runs.

Honestly I lost a lot of respect hearing Gase rant about all of his players and not shouldering ANY responsibility himself.

I kinda like when coaches and players speak their minds instead of spouting clichés. Just something different.

Or maybe it is time for people to admit Ajayi is not good and was a late round pick for a reason.

I have no problem with Gase saying what he did.
