Who is c. Coleman this year and beyond?

Postby Broncopain » Thu Aug 24, 2017 2:37 pm

I recently got an offer to acquire Coleman for my Wallace and Perkins and it for me thinking...what can this guy be? I know he was a pretty early pick in dynasty drafts his rookie year and he does have some talent but he does play for the browns who outside of a few years of Gordon haven't been all that inspiring at wr.

Is this guy worth it?

I'd rather have Coleman and a roster spot than Wallace and Perkins.

Coleman can be a high-end WR2, while Wallace is an aging one-trick pony and Perkins is an overrated JAG who happens to be in the right place at the right time. Maybe that's harsh criticism of Perkins, but I see him being replaced as soon as the Giants spend some meaningful draft capital at the position.

Coleman still has the upside, he wasn't amazing last year but he was hurt/had RGIII and Kessler. He shouldn't be given up on after one year. I would smash accept that deal btw.

Giving Wallace and Perkins for Coleman would be a good trade even in a redraft league.

Best comparable: Odell Beckham Jr. https://www.playerprofiler.com/nfl/corey-coleman/

I think you pull the trigger on Coleman. I own a share of Coleman, and I think he can be a reliable wr2. When he was healthy last year, he looked early in the year..

I'd take that trade.

On a more general note, we do guys see him?
I see him in same range as DT, T Hill, Crowder and Prior if I were to make a WR tier
Team 1, 0.5 PPR SuperFlex: QB, FlexQB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, Flex
QB: Watson, Herbert (Mariota)
RB: Barkley, Jacobs, Dobbins (Akers, K Herbert)
WR: DJ Moore, Woods, Golladay (T Patrick, Shenault, Rondale M, Cephus)
TE: Goedert (Njoku, Bryant, Trautman)
Pick 1.01

Agree on taking the trade, but I'd love to hear more about what people see as his outlook. I've been considering sending out offers on him since I imagine he's a bit of a buy low right now. Does he have the upside to be a WR1? Or is he looking at WR2 as his upside depending on how many TDs he gets away with? I recall him being excellent in contested catches when I watched tape on him before, but he isn't the "prototypical" size for a big time WR.

When someone offers you a gift and expects basically nothing back, you accept it and THEN worry about how useful the gift.

I'd say he definitely has the upside of a WR1. He was a HUGE producer in college, his athleticism is off the charts good, and he's shown in a limited healthy window that he can put up numbers in the NFL.
As for this season...no. He's a guy I want to invest in and stash, because I like his future. I don't like his present situation.

I don't know what Coleman will be, but I know whatever it is, it'll be better than Wallace and Perkins.

I would surely go for that Coleman trade. As mentioned earlier Wallace is one dimensional and a veteran player. The time to get a guy is before he becomes relevant and I think Coleman will become a better player once the QB situation in Cleveland finally resolves itself.

I see Coleman as a Roddy White type guy in his prime.

Good luck
