You're not far off. He's at best the 3rd option in that WR room, and they don't pass a lot.

The value of an empty roster spot is mostly a myth. How many free agent acquisitions do you keep from year to year? It depends on the size of the league but at some point you're just picking up Kerwynn Williams and dropping him two weeks later for Rashard Higgins, who you will drop next week for Ryan Griffin, etc. And you never start any of these people (or if you do, it hurts you), and whoever you end up with at the end of the year you drop for whatever 3rd round rookie you pick, who won't last through the preseason either. It's a perpetual cycle of nothingness unless you get lucky.

Holding on to Josh Gordon is the same cycle of nothingness, only with more upside. He was a top 3 dynasty pick according to DLF ADP in April of 2014. Higher than Dez and Julio. How often does an empty roster spot have that potential? Unless you're in a league where someone drops OBJ you should be rostering Gordon.

Fun experiment- I just dropped J. Hasty in a league to pick up Gordon. Since this thread will inevitably still be going strong, let’s check back in the postseason to see if it was a good, bad, or lateral move. Others should feel free to post who they dropped to pick him up as well.
