The offenses aren't at nearly the same level, but I definitely get what you're saying. Things just keep getting worse.

I think if you own him it is time to just take the best offer you can get. He clearly hasn't learned and this isn't very likely to end well.

true--but i think (in addition to what you mentioned) this has to be the stake through the heart of the "he's just a misunderstood guy who drank some old cough syrup and has probably never smoked pot" line of thought.

on the flip side, i'm guessing its a great time to buy Lyerla, blackmon, et al.

began a start-up, during round 1 of the NFL draft. and i was extatic that i got Gordon at #10.
Less than 24 hours later, the 1st report came.... it's been downhill ever since..
own him in two leagues and the best offer i've gotten so far is a bag of used jock straps.
my only hope at this point is that he uses Teflon Kenny Britt's (who i also own in both leagues :wall: ) lawyer and/or agent to deal with this stuff.

Probably when he got this most recent phone call. If ever there was a case to be made for an agent rage quitting, this is it.

I mean , it is and it isn't a non-story. If the weed was just sitting out on the passenger seat, there's a really good chance that he was smoking it. It's not a story in the sense that it's going to add to additional punishment, but it is an indication of how bad Gordon's apparent addiction is. He's looking at a year ban, and he's still smoking? the guy needs to go to rehab. This isn't a smart/dumb thing, this is an addiction thing, imo.

I think it is a story. He's currently appealing what is believed to be a 16-game suspension, on what grounds we don't know. However, when he's having his appeals hearing and it's brought up that, "Just recently you were cited for speeding, and your passenger was cited for possession of marijuana." That's not going to look good for him as it could be inferred that Gordon may also have been enjoying some herb. The NFL isn't a court of law, It's The Commissioner's Court, with checks and balances via the NFLPA.

Additionally, I'm guessing that Gordon is still being regularly tested so we'll know sooner or later if he fails again. At the very least perception is reality (at least for fantasy football purposes) and right now this news has to hurt his value. He's still not showing good judgement and that's the story.

Can't deny that Gordon is completely blowing it. At the very least, he is completely untrustworthy. Emotions involved, I'm ready to cut my losses. Stone cold killer / competitor, I will see this ship to the bottom of the ocean before I let my competition benefit from even a .001% chance of him reforming and playing clean (at a high level). Guess I'm stuck with him parked on IR for the forseeable future.

lucky you. My league only allows players that are actually on IR to be placed in "our IR" spots. so he's gonna be burning a regular roster spot for me for god knows how long....

I think its dumb that leagues allow suspended players to be on IR. I have to decide whether or not burning an extremely valuable roster spot on an extremely talented idiot named Daryl Washington is worth my time. You should have to do the same with Gordon.

IR does not mean suspended. I'd be very upset if I was in your league.

The report never said anyone was smoking the marijuana. It was found in a blue bag. Also, Gordon is most likely still gettig drug tested a lot every month so if he was smoking the nfl would know and wouldn't need to make an assumption.
