Agree on overpay BUT there's still the chance none of those 3 live up to potential in which case it's a steal.

But I'm a hoarder, so I'm hanging onto my treadwell and Gordon unless I get a great deal.

Cowboysfan33 wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2017 8:38 am Although it's great IRL that Gordon has completed rehab, the latest that I read is that his reinstatement isn't under active consideration and that it was an extreme long shot that he plays this season. I don't know, I will definitely check my leagues and see if he still on the waiver wire in any of them.
He just filed, so of course it wasn't under active consideration. It puts Goodell in a tight spot. He isn't going to want to let him back in if he thinks there's even a remote possibility of relapse because that would make him look stupid, but with the looming issues with Elliott he may want to make it clear that the NFL is focused where it should be now after taking such a PR hit over the Brown/Rice/AD cases in comparison with Gordon's case earlier on. I still own Gordon in one league, but he's just a stash for me right now. No real expectation of production this year.
Yes, by "active consideration" they meant there is no paperwork on Goodells desk waiting for him to sign and reinstate Gordon, as Gordon cannot apply again until sometime in a September.

I think of Gordon gets a clear bill of health after this stint in rehab then he gets reinstated, starts the season on PUP and maybe has a few games at the end of the year to regain shape for a strong stint in 2018 (he's just now in his physical prime, so I could expect 4-5 years of viable fantasy production out of him without injury considerations)

That being said if he gets reinstated and relapses what would that make, a 2 year suspension? I'd see his career as over if that's the case. This truly is a matter of Josh Gordon's final chance once/if he gets back into the NFL.

Still a no brainer stash on any bench greater than 10 man

No it's not.

Gordon likely won't play another snap in the NFL and White is looking like a huge bust. I actually still have hope for Treadwell, but dealing frustrating roster cloggers for a guy who put together back to back 1,000 yard seasons and outproduced Amari Cooper isn't really an "overpay," IMO.

This is the way I saw it. There were also other reasons I made the deal: It's a dynasty league but my leaguemates are kind of confused. New shiny rookies are highly valued and proven players are highly valued but they give up on potential real fast. Also, I needed to clear some roster spots heading into draft and I was on the fence about dropping these guys just to clear space, so I turned guys I was probably going to drop into Crabtree with a really cheap salary.

I agree. You traded 3 guys who wont be fantasy start worthy for a solid guy. I admit i shy away from boring contributors like Crabby way too often, but just not a fan of the 3 you traded and would do that in a heartbeat.

That was the idea. Held Gordon since he was a rookie too. Just time to move on and focus on Championship this year

I'm a big fan of all 3's upside potential - but yeah if you're trying to contend I'd take Crabtree in a heartbeat.
Please speak to clarion contrarion before considering the use of vetos..

Disagree for a contender. Gordon and White likely never become anything, so it's Treadwell vs Crabtree. Crabtree will easily outproduce Treadwell this year and next barring injury

I just took him (again) in one of my deeper league's rookie/FA draft with my 5th round pick. I just can't quit him for some reason. I feel like I have one share of him every year...you know, just in case.

Honestly, I think you would have to be a crazy person to not consider Gordon in the 5th round of a rookie draft. But that's not saying much; I would also consider Calvin Johnson in the 5th round, and I'm basically positive he's never playing again. That deep in you're grasping at straws.

Unfortunately, that's about the peak for Gordon's value in my book.

Also, just to contribute to the thread derailment, I would definitely make that deal for Crabtree if I was a contender. Seems pretty fair.
