Re: Quick question about Gordon?
A ploy to leave Cleveland and forfeit millions of dollars? And I don't mean by leaving the Browns he forfeits, but he just lost any type of leverage he would have had if he came back and performed. That's a fact and no team would invest much in him now, if anything. It's not out of the realm somebody would pick him up, but his contract he could sign once he is eligible will be way way way less than it could have been if he would have played his 12 games and stayed clean. That would be the most idiotic negotiating tactic ever.

Re: Quick question about Gordon?
He's locked into Cleveland for 2017, as well as 2016. If he can get out of Cleveland this year, he still has a full year to prove his abilities and get those millions you think he's losing.Friction wrote:A ploy to leave Cleveland and forfeit millions of dollars? Re: Quick question about Gordon?
So he would get the same investment from another team after he checked in to rehab to ditch his old team??? That's the question that is posed here. You are saying another team will give the same amount of dollars to a guy after he forced his way out by going to rehab that they would have gave him if he would have not? Really? In today's NFL landscape of suspensions and bad PR? Who would do that? Not saying getting back on the field would not help him, but if it came out that his personal decision to get healthy was actually a ploy to leave Cleveland, you think that would earn him the same paycheck? Ok.

Re: Quick question about Gordon?
I don't think he's smart enough to figure that out, unless his agent (can he still afford one of those?) is telling him what to do.

He's making less than half a million a year in Cleveland, so.... yes.Friction wrote:So he would get the same investment from another team after he checked in to rehab to ditch his old team??? Re: Quick question about Gordon?
That makes no sense. So he's going to forgo a chance to make millions of dollars as a free agent in the offseason by playing in Week 5, by faking a stint to rehab so that he can get cut right now.
Re: Quick question about Gordon?
Ugh. There is literally nothing left to talk about, no value, no more potential, get over it guys.
Re: Quick question about Gordon?
I'd be surprised if Cleveland cut him. They can hold his rights and not pay him I believe. No reason to expose themselves to the chance he signs elsewhere. They might be able to trade his rights to Philly for an end of bench lineman.

Re: Quick question about Gordon?
Thank you. Exactly. The only team dumb enough to overpay him in that scenario might be, well, Cleveland. Or if Al Davis rises from the dead.Cameron Giles wrote:That makes no sense. Re: Quick question about Gordon?
And what if he is actually using the NFL to promote his philosophy on weed so that it becomes legal everywhere and the gamechecks he invested turns to billions and he reveals that he actually hates football and would rather dance then MFL creates a Dancing position and he becomes the number one dancing asset in fantasy football? It's a possibility!!!! Hold him!!
