Allen Robinson owners
Don't panic, friends. We knew there was a regression coming.
Lee, Thomas, and Hurns are all capable WRs who will get targets.
Week 1: He got all of the "clutch" targets in week 1 on fourth downs. He also got the shot at the end of the game to the end zone that Bortles under-threw. This makes me think that Jacksonville still believes he's the guy at WR.
Week 2: Wasn't pretty, but the Jags believe that there were 4 missed PI calls against him. It's got to be tough to produce when people can get away with harassing you.
Week 3 is against the Ravens. Look for a bounce-back here -- we start worrying if there are three weeks in a row of poor production.

You should only worry if there's things on tape that you see that he's getting worse at. Otherwise, the production will come. Odell Beckham hasn't exactly been lighting it up either yet, but he still looks good and will probably start heating up soon.

Re: Allen Robinson owners
Exactly. We know they're capable of insane numbers and there's not any sort of injury or talent regression that we know of. Patience is key. Selling low is a recipe for a bad team.Cameron Giles wrote:You should only worry if there's things on tape that you see that he's getting worse at. Otherwise, the production will come. Re: Allen Robinson owners
Jason Verrett is for real. I know it's the Chargers, but their secondary is quite good. ARob is going to be fine.

I'll add that Antonio Brown went 3/45/0 on 6 targets against the Chargers last year.

Not that I don't agree people shouldnt panic at all about ARob, the AB comparison is a bit silly considering he had Mike Vick at QB against the Chargers last year.Hjorimir wrote:Jason Verrett is for real. I know it's the Chargers, but their secondary is quite good. ARob is going to be fine.

If you watched the game, Verrett was in AB's pocket all game long. Really. Anyway, my 2 cents.

Re: Allen Robinson owners
I'm not worried about ARob himself but Bortles seems to be getting pretty exposed thus far.
However, ARob will get his eventually. It's 2 weeks in and I expected regression.
I remember in 2014 when DT started off weak and I used that opportunity to buy low on him. He was fine too.
If you get a panicking owner - now is an excellent time to buy.

Re: Allen Robinson owners
Considering the NFL came out to say that there were 15+ penalties that were missed in the opening JAX/GB game, most of which were PI on Robinson (I have to imagine) I'm not concerned.

While they don't release details, Jax believes 4 were PI against ARob.StoneyBrown wrote:Considering the NFL came out to say that there were 15+ penalties that were missed in the opening JAX/GB game, most of which were PI on Robinson (I have to imagine) I'm not concerned.
Re: Allen Robinson owners
Yes go and Buy him now if you can. Tough matchups. Him and OBJ may actually be purchased right now. Send those offers out.

Re: Allen Robinson owners
3 of his first 4 games last year were bad. I'm not worried at all.
Last year:
1 for 27, no TD
6 for 155, 2 TDs
4 for 68, no TD
4 for 80, no TD

Re: Allen Robinson owners
Having watched that game, I was shocked no flag was thrown on at least three. I didn't know it was acknowledged, but good to know, though the impact on a close game would have been huge.StoneyBrown wrote:Considering the NFL came out to say that there were 15+ penalties that were missed in the opening JAX/GB game, most of which were PI on Robinson (I have to imagine) I'm not concerned.
Not worried about ARob. He's young, extremely talented and athletic, has put up big numbers, and will again before long and for a long time. Panic isn't something you do with studs with his credentials. Regression was obvious, but you still got an insulated, elite asset.
Re: Allen Robinson owners
Bortles was always the problem to me. I'm not too worried about it. I expected WR1/2 numbers from him this year, due to Bortles. I figured the improved JAX defense would keep games closer, reducing garbage time, and thus less time to rack up garbage stats. My theory hasn't quite come true, but the results have. Like Winston, when these guys face a legit secondary, they are made out to be the terrible passers they are. I did expect some garbage time against SD, but Verrett didn't relax at all. I'm not sure I can start a WR against him at all this season with much confidence.

I hate to come off as a dick, but if you think it's Bortles, you have no idea what you're talking about...DFHustle wrote:Bortles was always the problem to me. I'm not too worried about it.
