Re: Dion Lewis
Sucks for Dion Lewis - but it really should not be surprising. Guy has never been able to stay healthy.
James White is an interesting PPR flier.

Re: Dion Lewis
I knew James White would have value but I was unable to acquire him in most of my leagues. Too late now.
That said, this could just be a scope that heals in a month. Expect him to miss the first couple games though.

Re: Dion Lewis
Without DIon Lewis on the field I don't wanna get sucked into the whole New England RB trap. I'll just have to keep Lewis on IR for the time being.
Bummer, hopefully he comes out fresh at the halfway point.

Re: Dion Lewis
Honestly, I think we already know what White is. He'll maybe provide a handful of hard to predict flex weeks. Im more intrigued by DJ Foster. Dude is stupid agile and reflects more of Lewis' skill set imo.

Except Foster still has not seen the field - something that does not bode well for an undrafted rookie.TheSpidersFromMars wrote:Honestly, I think we already know what White is. White was a top-10 PPR back from weeks 9 to 16 last year.TheSpidersFromMars wrote:Honestly, I think we already know what White is. He'll maybe provide a handful of hard to predict flex weeks. Im more intrigued by DJ Foster. Dude is stupid agile and reflects more of Lewis' skill set imo.
Re: Dion Lewis
The problem with White is he seems to be confirmed a dud as a rusher. This is in contrast to Lewis, whom defenses still had to respect as a potential rusher when he appeared in the backfield pre-snap. The consistently effective pass-catching specialist RBs the league has been seeing the last decade or so have been guys that can pose a respectable pre-snap threat as a rusher, even if they don't end up actually logging many carries.
Foster is interesting because he's still an unknown quantity, but he needs to play in these preseason games if he wants to even make the roster.
I don't think Gaffney is exciting, but I do think people forget he's got above-average hands and is an exceptional pass-protector. I think those skills are the only reason the Pats have bothered to stash him on IR the last two years. He can't do what Lewis/White/Foster do in space, though, ofc.

Re: Dion Lewis
If you can get white cheap, then go for it, but I just do not trust him or Belicheck to pay the price he is going to most likely cost now. I saw how much it cost to bid for Terrance West the last couple weeks in my leagues that I imagine White will be even more costly. Maybe I'm wrong.

Re: Dion Lewis
He didnt play week 9, but he was held to 8 points or less in half of the games weeks 10-20 In my .5 ppr league. Just saying his production will be unpredictable. Not something im willing to rely on if Lewis is coming back at some point this season. He can basically only catch in this league, and TD's are a bit too fluky for me to wanna buy.Titus Young's Lawyer wrote:White was a top-10 PPR back from weeks 9 to 16 last year.TheSpidersFromMars wrote:Honestly, I think we already know what White is. Are you trying to say that he averaged less than 8 points per week in that span? He obviosuly scored more than 8 points on multiple weeks even in .5ppr.
Re: Dion Lewis
Sweet, now I can put off shopping for RB depth for a few weeks
JW's got some real juice in the passing game, happy to have him as depth.
