Christine Michael actually looks ... good. Damn it. I think I just threw up in my mouth while typing that.

Yea, he's always looked good. It just depends on if you can handle the inherent CMike variable. Nobody knows what it is, but its always there.

I was pretty anti Christine, still kind of am, but took him as a throw in on a trade. Now that I have held him and feel like he could possibly contribute this year for me, it almost feels, like cheating. Or more like I hooked up with the girl I always said was not hot to all my friends, but then secretly called her for a 2 a.m. Booty call. Every weekend.

I've always liked CMike, I think he has a good season this year as a low end RB2 splitting carries with Rawls and Prosise. PS: I dont own him but I used to.

Last year he caused me to trade for Rawls, drop Rawls preseason, get hope when he went to Dallas, lose all hope and drop him, and then pick him back up when he was gonna start at the end of the season in Seattle. Now he is getting first team reps and has had a moment of clarity when he saw his pro football life flash before his eyes! But he also is in what I see as the potential for a new 'New England style' RB carousel.

Look, I've been an owner of C-Mike ever since I drafted him in 2013. Oh, the pain I've endured. But this lovefest of 'oh he's never looked bad per se' now that he's finally getting this pro football thing figured out is forcing me to be devil's advocate here.

These are examples of the sort of things C-Mike has done in the past, on the field:

- clapping his hands in frustration for the opposing defense to see because his QB just audibled out of a run-play
- celebrating after a seemingly nice carry... except it was 3rd down, and he actually didn't quite get to the 1st down marker
- dropping a pass, and instead of being upset with himself, he immediately runs over to a former teammate on the defense and happily greets him with a chest-bump

I think this qualifies as 'looking bad'... just in the C-Mike Way.

ANYWAY, apparently he's not doing this bleep anymore, so yay and such, et cetera and so forth. And he's even carrying the ball in his left hand now on run-plays to the left! Incredible. I was nervously scanning the horizon for signs of the apocalypse when I saw him do that in his game last week.

Just got offered a 2017 late 3rd & Z Zenner for CMike. Thinking about it, but leaning on holding. Any other opinions out there about CMike's future?

If you want to read a big debate I had on this topic (specifically CMike vs Zenner in the player debate section) earlier this offseason when Cmike was still a screw up: viewtopic.php?f=94&t=115152&p=979205#p979205

Long story short, I keep CMike over Zenner and the late 3rd.

Stupefying as it seems, C-Mike might actually be a viable low-end RB2 / high-end RB3 this year in fantasy, if the recent reports suggesting he'll both split carries with Rawls and take over the passing-down work are true. So yeah, he's more valuable right now than Zenner, who looks to be competing for the smallest role in a 3-man committee. Zenner and a 3rd is closer, but I guess I'd turn that down in favor of Michael's theoretical upside if Rawls goes down.

In other news, Collins was bad again vs reserve players. And that Troymaine Pope guy was pretty good again against the same. Collins may be at risk of practice-squad demotion at this point.

This article has a clip of all of C-Mike's plays from last night. If he didn't have his reputation as being a complete letdown/knucklehead, you'd look at him in this small sample and come away that he looks like a pretty decent starting RB against a stingy Minnesota 1st Team defense.

One of his criticisms in the past was that he always held the ball in his right arm which made him susceptible to fumbles when running to the left and didn't allow him to stiff arm defenders away. This also displayed a lack of discipline/maturity in his running style despite his physical talent. You will see in this clip that when he runs to the outside left, he properly switches the ball to his left hand...something I've rarely, if ever, seen him do in the past. He also protects the ball with two hands running up the middle.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000 ... his-talent

He had also been criticized in the past that he was a liability on passing games because he wasn't a very good blocker. I haven't seen what his pass protection has looked like yet this year, but it will be interesting to see if that has improved as well.

Regardless, if he plays like this in the regular season, he will definitely eat into Rawls' touches.

was one of the 1st to find cmike as a solid prospect when he came out. the college numbers didnt impress, he was a knucklehead back then aswell. lol...for me, you could see the talent if he ever put it together though (received a legit opportunity to get on the field). everyone bought waiting for lynch's retirement, and that time as come.

its been a crazy journey, filled with minimal playing time to say the least. we have seen a glimpse or two of the guy we drafted, and just like then...we now want to speculate on this prospect.

until i see him get consistent opportunities on the field... i really dont see an angle to take. imo, rawls earned the starting job last year. do they want to implement a rbbc? i have my doubts. not sure why they would just all of the sudden change what has worked so well for them. its highly likely imo, that the hawks and pete drafted the best talent on their board at the time. hence the rb's this year.

thats not to say that their isnt room for cmike, rawls, procise here...because i think there could be, but how can you put a fantasy value to a 3 headed monster? its very likely that all 3 would be nothing more than a bye week fill in with hopes that the week you play your guy...he's the beneficiary.

that leads me to where this whole thing started....those who drafted cmike, did so waiting for lynch's retirement. that time has come, and now maybe he will get the opportunity to be "the" guy. it seems unlikely when we look at the roster, but if you did/do believe in the talent... cmike should have a legit shot at getting some reps.

No Thanks. I'm very glad I sold my shares on CMike when they were high. I was never super high on him but, no doubt they guy has the tools. He's flashed athletic ability and has good to very good physical measurements. In a way, his situation reminds me of the Bryce Brown story. Anyway... Those left holding and hoping at this point, good luck. Oh, and - I don't see it as a 3 headed monster, rather, a 4 man race. T.Rawls, CJ Procise, CMike, and A.Collins. I also feel strongly that Seattle is going to be less reliant on the run than they have in years past. Ugly situation and as far as CMike. I'd have to think about giving up a future 3rd for him. I certainly don't' think it's likely that he amounts to too much fantasy wise. He just isn't dependable and, imo, the deck is stacked against him.

Never know though, crazier things have happened.
