Pre Season Stock Watch: Risers and Fallers

Postby GridironGuerilla » Fri Aug 12, 2016 11:17 am

Thought I'd start a thread to address the guys who you see gaining or losing value based on camp, preseason games, injury, etc. Who are the guys that we should be moving up our ranks and adding to our watch lists based on the performances you've seen? I know some of these threads cover individual players ad nauseam but I think it will be helpful to have a consolidated "one stop shop" if you will, an at-a-glance for those who don't want to wade through 17 pages of arguments.
Who's impressed you? Who's underwhelmed? Who are you scrambling to add? Drop?

Malcolm Mitchell-Neutral

I think he impressed on the field. Obviously the injury hurts his short term status.

Michael Thomas up
Terrence West up
Kenneth Dixon up? He looked good but West's performance could counter-balance it.

Michael Thomas looked good

He didn't have the best outing but I thought Wentz looked good. When he was drafted it was known he'd be a raw prospect with lots of potential. From what I saw, he has all the physical ability to play the position at the NFL level, that I have no doubt of. All he needs is for the game to slow down for better reaction timing. Saw a few balls thrown high, but that is of course coach-able. Overall I liked what I saw out of him.

No fantasy implications--

I liked what I saw out of Michael Thomas.

Jacoby Brissett

Deiondre' Hall

There are some games I have not seen--so this may change--

I have to say I was impressed with what I saw last night. To me he has the look of a guy who has a chance to be successful almost based purely on his aggressive mentality. He wasn't especially flashy, but he was making plays, and not against the "2nd half scrubs", either. We'll see what the injury does to his status on the depth chart, but if I got him for cheap in my rookies drafts I'd be pretty pleased just on the potential.

Also, there seems to be a chance that Michael Thomas could possibly break the Big 10 WR bust mold, as he looked solid as well. I wouldn't move him up my draft boards just yet, but I'd feel more confident picking him in the mid-1st of a rookie draft than I was before last night.

As others have said - Michael Thomas was the biggest standout for me from last night.

Sammie Coates not doing much to win the job. DHB and Wheaton going to be ahead of him.
