I have Hurts in one super deep league and I really need to win this week. Now I have to decide between Minshew or Cam.
EDIT: Whoops, Cam's on bye this week. Minshew it is.
I hope Minshew gives Philly reason to do so! I have a feeling all of Philly's top skill players are going to have big games with the QB switch. Time to get Sanders out there. Unfortunately for the team in my sig, I'm not sure if I can get Sanders in the lineup this week.

Re: Jalen Hurts: What's the verdict?
I would have zero confidence starting Sanders regardless of what QB was in there. Howard is out, but Scott is expected to play, and so Gainwell will likely see a few touches as well. Is this the game Sanders scores his first TD of the season? Maybe, but I'm glad I don't have to try and figure that out.Anteaters wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 12:13 amPac_Eddy wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 4:21 pmDid Hurts get injured?halfbaked88 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 04, 2021 4:12 pm Minshew is starting tomorrow... Re: Jalen Hurts: What's the verdict?
This is bad for Hurts owners. I absolutely called this at some point. It's better than Hurts being benched outright, it's through injury, but either way, you are getting film on another QB behind the offense.
I follow Philly closely because I live here, if Minshew shows ANY competence there will be controversy in the locker room. This organization flips on players and coaches like it's nothing. Ertz was getting shunned by fans and radio shows when all he wanted was to get paid for being a major part of this team for years.
If I had to guess, Hurts is now going to try everything he can to get on the field today to avoid a situation where the backup QB starts for "one game" and ends up taking the starting job. Which has happened many times on other teams in the past.
You gotta think Minshew looks pretty good against NYJ.
But having an easy matchup, I have a feeling they might lean on the run. Still, if Minshew can put up 220 yds, 1TD, no INTs and the Eagles win... You know that's going to create a divide within the locker room, the fans and coaches....

Re: Jalen Hurts: What's the verdict?
This was always a possibility. It's not like the fan base or management are sold on Hurts. Some of the fan base were hyping Hurts this off season, and many of those same people have already turned on him after seeing the reality of his limitations. My guess is their long term QB is not on their roster. The QB controversy, if any, will be short lived. I mean, let's face it. Both of these guys as starters will only leave them floundering in mediocrity, and Philly still has the dying taste of that SB win in their mouths. They want to wet that pallet again. They are about to lock in a 3rd first round pick with Wentz approaching the required number very soon. I still expect a move for a good vet or drafting a rookie as a very real possibility. That we shall have to wait and see on. However for this season, if Minshew looks really good and opens up the offense, there may be a decision that needs to be made. At 6-7, they wouldn't be completely out of the running for that last playoff spot.halfbaked88 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 7:55 amThis is bad for Hurts owners. I absolutely called this at some point. Re: Jalen Hurts: What's the verdict?
I think this is more that people are talking about 2 separate realities in this case. He's pointing out that in a real football situation, this is terrible and not sustainable for a starting QB in the NFL, while you are pointing out FF stats. It IS a FF website, but it's also a Dynasty one. I think the divide here is, he's saying Hurts isn't long for a starting gig with these types of numbers. Hurts has been fantastic for anyone who has been using him in their FF lineup, and honestly, for a 2nd round pick in a SF, even if you get only 1 year out of him, but it's top 5 QB numbers, it's still probably a win for you with that pick.mild wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 10:25 amFun Fact: Over the last 12 weeks, Jalen Hurts has outscored Aaron Rodgers, Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott, and Joseph Burrow in standard scoring leagues and is the current QB6 on the year.halfbaked88 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 8:19 am Fun Fact: Over the last 8 weeks, Jalen Hurts has had one game with over 200 passing yards.
