Dynasty Impact: First and foremost, we hope Ridley gets the help he needs and returns to the NFL soon. When he does, he’ll still be considered one of the top receivers in the game. But for those dynasty teams with Ridley, they’ll have to do what the Falcons will do – wait. You won’t find a market for him since no one knows when he’ll return. And there’s a greater-than-zero chance he retires permanently. So hold on to him and consider him the ultimate taxi player until further notice.
Heard a podcast today where the person pointed to all the people struggling with mental health issues during the pandemic and openly speculated that this may not be merely a one year thing.

I'm an Aiyuk truther so I think it's fine considering the uncertainty.

I have an offer on the table.
Give: Patterson/Bateman
Get: Ridley/Logan Thomas

My team isn't competing so I'm looking to move Patterson. I know Bateman is young but when/if Ridley comes back the trade would be on my side. Thoughts?

I can definitely see doing it. Only thing that'd make me reconsider is if it's a deep or large league. A 12x26 or 14x30, yep I'd do it.

I think I'd take that chance. We know Patterson only has a couple years tops of production if any after this season, Bateman is a nice piece, but I doubt he can really excel in BAL with Hollywood and Andrews there soaking up so many targets. And if Ridley comes back he has proven to be a top tier WR

Disclosure: I'm incredibly cold on the Ravens offense as a whole.

I like this trade for a rebuilder, especially one that doesn't have any risk exposure. You need to take a couple chances like these to crush a rebuild.

According to NFL Analyst @wyche89 on whether Calvin Ridley could be moved: “I’d think so. The fact that he and the team have been so quiet and he hasn’t surfaced, it appears like both sides could be looking for a fresh start.”
They wouldn't be ready to move on from him, unless:

- They think it's a real possibility that this won't be the last of his troubles, or
- They really just want to be done with him (this doesn't track for me)

Otherwise, why even breathe a word of this and give up your plausible leverage? Would Wyche really just shoot blindly into the dark on this without a source? Any new team would need assurances that he's going to play before consummating the deal; doubly so if it's the sort of haul Atlanta will likely seek in a rebuild.

I guess I had just assumed he was coming back in '22. This seems far more ambiguous, and way more troubling.

At the moment I lean to "without a source" or at least without a credible source. Someone undergoing deep psychological treatment would not be advised to make regular media updates. It makes sense Ridley hasn't made any public statements, and wouldn't until he felt his return was imminent or he felt his departure was turning permanent. And it makes sense that the organization would be respectful of his medical privacy and not comment on his situation until Ridley said it was okay to do so.

This sounds like a bored reporter looking for something interesting to say about the Falcons. It's not like there is anything else happening around the Falcons that is noteworthy. Another season outside the playoffs, an aging QB who is guaranteed to return for a lame duck season . No RB, no other good WRs, an OL that needs addressing, and a DEF that could use about 8 upgraded pieces. If the reporter wants to write about the Falcons and have anyone read the story, he might have figured his best chance was to talk about the team's best player. Even if there's no new news about him.

I wish there was some news about Ridley and hopefully some positive news about his well-being.

If true, I took that report as a good thing. It would mean Ridley plans on playing next year and he's just disgruntled with the Falcons for some reason. I doubt any team is going to trade for him without some sort of assurance that he plans on playing next year. We've seen disgruntled players get traded when the team had no real incentive to do so. Stafford is a recent example. Ridley is also going to be due a big pay day that maybe the Falcons just don't want to do as they'll be rebuilding. But like Ant posted, it could just be a reporter having nothing better to do than to speculate.

click bait.
Truth is found through Evidence.

Science is the poetry of reality.

* Reality (as defined by Webster's dictionary) - A word for things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional ideal of them.
