Updating Cordarrelle Patterson's position from WR to RB

I’ve been in Dynasty Leagues for over a long time and in one of my leagues, I asked our commissioner to change Cordarrelle Patterson’s position from WR to RB. He is officially listed as a RB on the Falcon’s website and I thought this was the right thing to do.

I would like to have his position changed to RB.

I commish three other Dynasty Leagues and I changed his position with no one objecting to it.

What do you all think?

Slippery slope that's best avoided. Leave him as the platform has designated. Unless you get a unanimous vote.

Follow the platform’s designation imo. If the platform has an option to turn dual eligibility on/off, that’s something you should vote on as a league in the offseason. Even then I’d still follow the platform’s designation as to if a player is dual eligible or not.

Not right to change the setting in week 13 so it’s all irrelevant at the moment. Discuss and vote as a league in the offseason how to handle these situations.

Agreed with previous two posters. And if this is something that at agrees with, should have been addressed before week 1. Pretty sure there were reports out preseason about him playing RB. Shouldn’t change in-season just because he’s proven viable now.

The only reason it's even a question is because he's putting up solid fantasy numbers that would give you an advantage. Would anyone care if he was irrelevant like he has been in the past?

Yep, as a commissioner, I had to face this question around week 6 or 7 and I mirrored the responses in this thread. We can change it in the off-season, but not now. Finishing with this right here. My point, "We had the same thing with Ty Montgomery, but nobody said a word because he wasn't particularly viable."...

I agree stick to the platform, unless there is something in the bylaws about it. One league I am in, it states in the bylaws it can be changed based on the NFL.com position. So we did it for that, when the owner contended the position, because it's clearly stated he can.

We have the same bylaw. I successfully lobbied for this for C-Pat around week 5 in my league, because on both NFL.com and on the Falcons official depth chart, he was listed as a RB. And then I sold him immediately.

I think that's a fair precedent to stick to - that the player should be listed per what he is listed as in real life.

But I also agree that Week 12 (or is it 13? ) is too late in the game to expect the league to jump to your aid on this one.
