Apparently Eagles might be interested in Christian Ponder.

...who couldn't even beat out Matt McGloin.

So they dump Tebow the Christian for another Christian {Ponder}, seems like a religious zen synchronicity thing to me!

Good for Him.

I think Tebow is the target of more vitriolic and hateful sports talk than any other athlete I know outside of UFC. I don't by any means think he was a great professional football player but he was pretty good in college. He's just a guy chasing his dream.

I just find it odd that he would choose to change sports instead of choosing to change positions. I would think he would have had a much better chance at success if he had converted to some type of hybrid full back / running back / wildcat qb - kind of a joker te+.

Or play in Canada seeing as he had offers from there. Could have very well had the kind of career success as Doug Flutie.

And I also don't understand why he's been the target of such hatred. I guess that's what you get when you have your life together and are an all around great individual.

I never felt there was hatred directed towards him - he seems like an incredible human being. I think there was frustration that a fringe roster worthy qb would always generate so much media attention wherever he went, to the point teams would have to hold a press conference about him. I think that highlights his popularity with fans, not hatred.

I mean unless your a base ball afficianado, who's the last minor league player signed that made headlines? Tebow is immensely popular

Probably Jordan ;)

I am just happy I won't catch random Tebow reports anymore...don't follow baseball so here's hoping.

He is annoying...I don't hate him. It probably isn't even Tebow himself but his cult following and the media that is at fault for it.

Postby M-Dub » Mon May 10, 2021 9:50 pm

After the news broke this morning, I thought sure SOMEBODY would’ve started a “Tim Tebow to the Jags” thread by now. I’d just like to take this opportunity to commend all of you on your measured restraint (and sanity). Hopefully this will all be over soon.

I think he'll try to replicate Taysom Hill's role on the Saints for the past 3 years. Just wait until Tebow scores a TD on some gimmick QB rushing play. The announcers will act like it's the greatest thing an American has done since D-Day.

Oh good, I was hoping someone would start a Tebow to the Jags thread. Thanks.

I’ve always been a fan but feel like if he would’ve been less stubborn and more willing to play non QB positions, he could have been playing in the NFL all along. It feels more novelty act than anything else but glad he’s back.

Shh I wanted to stash him for cheap

Funnily enough though, the TE currently on the Jags have something close to 100 career receptions combined. Reunited with Meyer... It's an interesting storyline at least and Tebow has an outside chance here to play a few downs but he will be 34 this year. No thanks.
