Misfit74 wrote:I've had the Saints-Colts SB matchup pegged since back in October. Let's see if I draw from my spiritual side, align it with my mind, and come up with a prediction:

Saints 34, Colts 27

In other news:
  • >Drew Brees - Super Bowl MVP.

    >Big day for Pierre Thomas.

    >Greg Williams dials up just enough pressure to keep the Colts under 30 points.
The refs try and call the game in Lord Manning's favor, but the Saints are too good to allow another officiated fairy-tale ending (I really hope the refs stay out of the way). Finally, thank God I can watch a SB without the Steelers! LOL. I hope this game is free from phantom touchdowns...  Isn't great we have a 'former GB QB'-free game today? YEAH!!! Kidding aside, I think the Saints will need at least one big play from Reggie Bush to get it done.

I like rooting for the underdog - the Saint's have not gotten the media praise that Manning has. Screw 'The Man' and beat the team w/ the 'media darling'. I'm a big fan of the creative offense by Sean Payton and really enjoy watching the Saints. That's my take and I'm sticking to it. :)
Saints win!

>31-17 (I said 34-27 Saints) Check.

>Pierre Thomas big day? 9-30, 6-55-1 (not a monster day, but he made some great tackle-breaking runs and his TD catch and run was huge in the game) Check.

>Drew Brees MVP? Check. (Completed 82% of is passes on 39 attempts. That is outrageous!)

>Colts held to under 30 points? Check. (Greg Williams dialed up his defense at key times in the game, none bigger than the all-out blitz that allowed Tracy Porter to jump the route by Wayne and take it to the house.)

8-) Ahh, if I only gambled...I would have bet the Saints vs. the spread, but also the Over, so who knows on that one. Great game by the Saints - they showed their hunger to win throughout the contest and that onside kick took MAJOR HUEVOS!!! Great coaching and clock-management by New Orleans, too. After getting the jitters out in the first quarter, the Saints really came alive and started catching everything, breaking tackles and taking it to the Colts. Brees is a master at the QB position. Very fun to watch two potential HoF QBs duke it out. The refs stayed out of the way and called a good game, I thought, too. :)
