WRs at 2.01 & 2.02?

Postby jwellman » Sat May 15, 2021 4:36 am

So more and more I'm feeling there is dropoff after 1.09 (1.10 if you include Mac Jones). Pretty sure I'm going to be looking at WR4 & 5 at 2.01 and 2.02. I really don't think Smith and Waddle are the surest WR2/3 they are being drafted at and should probably be lumped in with Bateman, Marshall, etc. Just curious.on how folks have their top 5 or 6 WRs ranked?

It's pretty much pick your guy.
In my 14 team league, the top 10 was chalk (5 QB, 3 RB, Pitts and Chase). The next 6 picks were WRs, in order, Smith, Waddle, R. Moore, E. Moore, Bateman, Marshall then a tier break before D. Brown, Toney, St. Brown, Collins, Rodgers.
I'm not high on any of the WRs this year after Chase. Personally, I would be looking to move the picks for young-ish, veterans. Depending on your preferences and team need, WRs like Jeudy, Claypool, Chark, Deebo, Diontae might fall around that range for individual picks. Maybe you can target higher if you package both picks. Or see what kind of RBs may be available for those picks. Or try to trade out for 2022 or 2023 1st(s).

i posted this in an Elijah Moore thread, this is where the WRs went in the first two rounds of my 12t 1ppr SF draft:

Chase 1.2
Smith 1.8
Waddle 1.10
Terrace 2.2 (me)
Bateman 2.5
St Brown 2.6
R Moore 2.7
E Moore 2.10 (me)
Eskridge 2.11
Brown 2.12
6 QBs went in the first when Trask went at the 1.12, along with Harris, Pitts and ETN. Javonte Williams went at the 2.1 or I would have probably grabbed him over Marshall. Sermon 2.3, Carter 2.4, Pat F 2.8 and Gainwell 2.9 were the other 2nd round picks. I think RB4-6 all went ahead of more valuable players, but teams may have been addressing their personal needs. Pat F went way too early any way you slice it. But that all served to drop E Moore to me at 2.10

It is really a pick your guys situation after Chase & Waddle imo. I had picks 1.10, 1.11 and 2.4, below is the post for my draft results:

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=215346

I took Waddle at 1.10, was thrilled he fell to me. I don't see him that far behind Chase (after those two there is a clear drop off). I traded my 1.11 and moved back to 2.1, because Elijah Moore was my guy. I am not high on Smith at all, landing spot being a big reason.

Bateman - Ruled him out as I already have 2 weapons in the Ravens offense. WR also have an extremely poor track record in Greg Romans offenses.

Marshall Jr - Like him a lot and landing spot is good, but took Pat F at 2.4 instead as I really like him long term, and I am in a TE premium league. If I didn't get both E Moore & Waddle, I would have taken Marshall Jr at the beginning of the 2nd round easily.

Amari Rodgers - Fell to me at the end of the 2nd round which I couldn't be happier with. Love the landing spot, GB churns out WR in the 2nd and 3rd rounds historically.

R Moore - Not a big fan due to size and injury history. Seems like he could have a high ceiling but a really low floor.

Toney - I like him, but a lot of mouths to feed.
12 TEAM SUPERFLEX, TE Premium, 25 man rosters

WR - McLaurin | Deebo | Waddle | Gabriel Davis | Elijah Moore | Mooney | C Ridley | Jameson Williams | Pickens | Alec Pierce | Wan'dale Robinson | Justyn Ross | B Edwards
TE - M Andrews | Friermuth

2023 Picks: 1st round(2), 2nd round(2), 3rd round (2)
