What does a rebuilding team do with 1.02?

Postby CountZero » Wed May 05, 2021 6:26 am

Hi folks,

I picked up an orphaned team four years ago and it isn't going very well as you can tell by draft slot.
I play in a 12 team SF dynasty, PPR with IDP and rosters of 36+ players.

Not especially set at QB, with Murray, Wentz, Minshew, +1
Not especially set at RB, with Ekeler, Henderson, Edwards, Latavius, +6
WR group is Godwin, Tee Higgins, Campbell/Gage/Tre'Quan, Tyler Johnson +8
TE is Engram, Higbee +2

My gut says I am not close, and yet I feel like I could be a RB1 or WR1 away from contending.

If you were in this predicament would you...
Trade 1.02 and load up on as much talent as possible?
Address QB depth by getting Lance or Fields?
Go for Harris on the chance that he becomes one of those top 5 RB's that seem to have higher value than QB?

Any advice you can provide would be welcome.

Thanks and good luck this year.

It certainly doesn't hurt to shop it, but id be inclined to just take your favorite qb. You would need a lot to go right it looks like to contend and the qb is going to be the most valuable asset, both short and holding its value long term.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to put this in the advice forum. Unfortunately, this one doesn't get much traffic these (though not as bad as the devy and college scouting forums, lol)

Not to rain on your parade but that team is nowhere near contending.

You need a massive amount of help, two or three players that hit not likely going to contend unless you have a bunch of other picks. If keeping 1.02 you can't really go Harris there, no needs to build around a 23 year old RB & hope to flip him next year, just pushes you back another year. With this being SF and QB needy team likely take Lance or Fields, if you trade back to 1.04 you will likely still get a solid QB plus another nice piece like an early 2nd in return. You really need to build that team up and infuse with youth... Good luck.
