6 points for a TD, -2 for an interception. Which QBs benefit from these rules?

Given the increase in popularity for SF and 2QB leagues, this forum is intended for topics relating to these formats.

6 points for a TD, -2 for an interception. Which QBs benefit from these rules?

Postby Crouchy » Wed Mar 03, 2021 11:18 am

Hope this section is the right place.

In a non standard superflex league where the rules are you get 6 points for a TD rather than 4 and you get -2 for an interception rather than -1, which QBs would be moved up your rankings and which move down. How much do you compensate?

So I would say that aacurate pocket passers for high scoring offences would benefit. Like Rodgers, Stafford, Brady, Mahomes becomes even further number one. On the flipside, running QBs or QBs from inefficient offences would suffer. Lamar, Hurts. I guess for someone like Winston it might balance out.

And in the draft Mac Jones is now closer to Lance than in a normal league.

Way over thinking it, this doesn't really change QB rankings, just makes QBs slightly more valuable overall.

I think a QB like Aaron Rodgers & Mahomes gets a boost, and players like Drew Lock, Jared Goof, & Russell Wilson take a hit.

To truly answer it, make a copy of the league and input those parameters. See how it shakes out.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

Pretty much this ^^ If you want to get a any more granular with it, it benefits the guys that throw a ton of touchdowns (Mahomes, Rodgers as mentioned above) a bit more and negates some of the rushing advantage (relative to other QBs) that a guy like Jackson offers.

Yup- echoing others here, this just inflates QB value relative to other positions. Regarding draft prospects, I wouldn’t change anything- you need to draft somebody who will have NFL success first and foremost. Looking at the rules and trying to parse out if it makes more sense to draft a prospect like Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen really isn’t important- you’re fine if you get either. It’s way more important to avoid the Josh Rosen.
