Lockett or Andrews for 2021-1

Postby dhanks91 » Tue Feb 11, 2020 9:49 am

Team 2 in sig

Was offered Lockett or Andrews for a 2021-1. Does this make sense for my team? Locketts age is starting to get up there and I’m not sure he’s ever going to be the stud everyone thought he was. Andrews has long term potential as a TE1.

I’m fairly new to SF so any advice helps. Thanks!

Andrews > Lockett > 2021 1st

I'd accept that ASAP.

You don't have the high end pieces or the depth to be a true title contender and that is assuming Rivers has a starting spot. I would be keeping my pick at this time. Fields + Lawrence could each be round 1 SF assets in their first season and there is high end skill talent in the draft as well.

I'd keep the pick pretty easily.

Your team isn't terrible (clearly!), but I'm not sure that it's championship-level yet either. While you could argue that Andrews or Lockett is better than a random 1st in 2021, I'd be willing to bet that, as the 2021 draft nears, you'd be likely to get a much better player then -- or a guy like Andrews or Lockett at worst.

If one of those players is a final-piece-of-the-puzzle type player, then I'd trade the pick in a second. But not in your situation.
