16 tm SF TE premium. QB draft question

I didn't realize there was an SF section. Cool. I posted in the dynasty advice section about my new league, but I have a slightly different question to piggyback off of. I'm new to dynasty SF(done a few redraft SF) and completely new to TE premium. I pick at 1.07 and have been instructed to grab QBs with my top 2 picks, then likely TE and so on...BPA. My question is since there's 16 teams and each team should be trying to aquire 2 QBs early, which 16 x2 QBs =32. That's all the starters in the league. Do I draft a random backup or handcuff my QBs? Or, if in the 3rd round some teams haven't taken 2 QBs should I snipe a 3rd to have a backup/ bye week QB?

On a side note. The rookie draft will be separate and be the reverse snake order of the startup draft. So, I'll have the 10th pick in that. I expect Burrow, Tua, and Herbert to be gone before i pick at 1.10. That'll may mean a team or two that has a high rookie pick could strategize their startup draft with the expectation and knowledge that they'll land one of those QBs in the rookie draft, if they have a top 3-4 pick. That might leave a QB or two hanging around in the 3rd if the startup draft... possibly. I'm simply speculating. If that occurs do you take a 3rd ir but TE and BPA it from there while targeting another TE soon after the 3rd?

I'll put it this way: As a default, I'd draft the best QB available through the first three (maybe even four) rounds unless there was a really compelling reason to do otherwise.

I wouldn't grab a TE in the third. Remember that beyond the top few guys, it's just the same as other TE leagues. Your TE is competing vs theirs. All TE's score more, so unless you get Kittle or someone like that in the third, I wouldn't worry about that position necessarily. QB's will be massively important in a 16 teamer, so I would definitely get one in the first, and 2nd if the value is there, and depending on how others draft. With a 16 team snake, you don't want to miss on a run of QB's, with so many picks in between your next pick.

Yes. See What happened with Tanny, Kyle Allen, and others this year. They can gain a temporary value spike, and you can move them to a team who didn't draft enough QB's later on. Draft them later on, when you are filling out your roster. I wouldn't take them over starters at other positions, but when you are drafting committee backs and backup RB's, or 3rd or 4th WR's on their own team, I'd take a swing at one I think has a shot. Try and target teams with less stable QB positions.
