Ryan Tanehill value

Postby Jfzehner » Mon Nov 11, 2019 8:57 am

I am in a superflex league and I am in a rebuilding phase and Tanehill is not the long term solution, what draft pick(s) or young players is he worth?

I recently got a 2nd-round pick from him from a guaranteed bottom-three team (that owned Mariota). That seems like a reasonable asking price, and settling on a mid-2nd or late-2nd and a 3rd seems about ballpark given his past and his uncertain future.

Obviously, if you could get any 1st for him, then I think that's a snap-accept (and I'd be willing to add, say, a late 3rd to get that done). Not sure how likely that is, though.

I'd want at least an early 2nd to sell at this point. TEN seems willing to move forward with Tannehill as the starter, and even though he's a middling talent, he's done enough to keep the starting job and has been a more than serviceable QB2 in fantasy. Plus, he's still just 31 years old and could have a mid-career resurgence like Carson Palmer did after he went to ARI.

Same story as Miami. Good enough to get by, mediocre enough to keep the draft a QB talk going.

He's an alright QB2 and a very good QB3 in deep formats.

I've been trying to sell in my league for a 2nd since he was named the starter. No takers yet...

His value now is probably a mid to late second. I think his real value hinges on what TEN does with him. If they sign him and make him the starter, he's an early second.
