I think you take a chance on him due to Nick Foles being Nick Foles....who knows which one you're going to get in JAX. Other than that? Not sure there's enough there pointing to him being a success but we'll see.

I agree he is a long shot; hence the draft capital.
However I like (not love) his tape.
Also like you said - Nick Foles.

Might as well turn this thread into a Gardner blurb/highlight feed lol. I guess the good news is, it appears he has a pretty infectious personality that teammates "rally" around.

the numbers were pretty rough week 1, anyone have a take that actually saw the game?

Was unable to see the game but I'm sure we all saw the hit heard round the world lol.

Good news for Minshew is that McGough and Lee appeared to be pretty bad running the offense after.

He'll need to show more though for him to actually grab/maintain the backup job.

Yeah week 1 was rough.

Week 2 he looked quite good, obviously still a work in progress but a big improvement from the prior week.

Picking him up in both 2 QB leagues. Team 1 because Luck and I'm 1st waiver claim... Team 2 Im just going in with 100% FAAB

Let's be honest which other potential backups could see starting time this year (outside of injury)

- Gabbert + Griffin (TB)

- Chase Daniel + Tyler Bray if Trubisky truly implodes

- Rosen and Magic are already rostered

- Maybe Colts, Skins?

Would almost seem like Minshew should be the best of that bunch.

I remembered reading this thread when I heard the news of him blowing up yesterday. Well, not really blowing up, but having a decent showing especially for a back-up/rookie. Great call and kudos to you!

I grabbed him in a deep SF league- he's worth a shot. Current QBS: Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, Case Keenum, Minshew and...Teddy Bridgewater. Nick Foles is tentively targeting a week 10/11 return. Minshew could run away with the job, if not you have a cheap starting QB for a good chunk of a season. I plan on waiting and seeing what happens. If he looks good I may stash him on my taxi squad in the chance Foles loses the job in the future.

Never know- low risk type move.
