Rate my Startup

Postby DLF_TylerK » Tue May 07, 2019 2:17 pm

Rosters are really massive, so I couldn't stuff the team into my signature. I'm curious how my team stacks up. QBs were mostly ignored in my startup, so I grabbed the QB value with Luck and Baker in the 2nd, Kyler in the late 5th, and Dak in the 8th. I tried not to gut my team too badly, although I know my RBs are not ideal. Of course, I'm going to try and move a WR or two for some RB help at some point. I also figured with only 2 IDP flex spots that IDP was basically an afterthought, so I didn't focus on it much. Thoughts?

Also, if it matters, in addition to this team, I acquired 2 extra 2nds in 2020 and an extra 1st and 2nd in 2021, so I managed to add a bit to my future draft capital as well.

I think it looks great. Tons of QBs and plenty of nice young WRs. You should have plenty of assets to either trade for RBs and/or draft them in 2020. You're probably ready to compete year 2, or year 3 at the latest. You're right that QBs are that valuable, but you will need to convince at least one of the other owners of that in order to cash in on some of that awesome value to upgrade your RBs in the future.
12-tm Superflex, 6pt Passing TDs, TE 1.5ppr
Roster:
QBs: Murray, Burrow, Tua, Finley, Luck, Fromm, Mullens
RBs: Guice, Dam Harris, MDavis, Gaskin, Warren, Calais
WRs: Diggs, Ridley, Lamb, Jefferson, CSamuel, Hollywood, Slayton, Fuller, DRobinson, Duvernay, Reynolds, Humphries, Tyrell Williams, Pettis, Renfrow, KeeSean Johnson, Gordon
TEs: Fant, Griffin, Harrison Bryant, BHopkins, LWillson

Picks: 2021 1/1/1/2/2/2/3/3/4/4, 2022 1/1/2/2/3/4

Exactly. I'm in no rush to make the deal. I think I got insane values on all 5 QBs I selected and I won't sell at a discount just because I need RBs. I'm hoping people will learn the QB value over time, but if not, I'll just keep my QBs and try to rebuild at RB through free agency and the draft. I have a very strong WR core and I'm solid at TE for a TE premium.

I like it a lot. Should be able to flip a QB for RB/WR help midseason if you make a surprise playoff push in Year One.

Yeah I figure that keeping Baker and Luck gives me QB stability for years. I'd only trade them if someone came with an offer of a top 5 RB or WR. But I'm hoping I can make a deal with Dak or Kyler. Once they start scoring and teams start to realize how important QB is, I hope I can make that kind of move.
