How many QBs are worth at least a first?

Postby nicktahoes » Wed Mar 20, 2019 2:20 pm

Seems like a vast majority of QBs seem to be valued at a first or first + in superflex. This makes sense to a certain point.

I'm wondering at what point in the rankings everyone thinks the value of QBs switches to a second.
Team 1:
PPR--QB, RBx2, WRx3, TE, Superflex, Flex x2
QBs: Lawrence, Stafford, Geno, Hooker, Rush
RBs: Ekeler, Kamara, Achane, Elijah Mitchell, Dillon, Kelley, Moss, Jamaal Williams
WRs: Adams, Hopkins, Waddle, Kirk, JSN, Boyd, OBJ, Hyatt
TEs: Kelce, Hockenson, Taysom, Irv Smith

and then a few minor players and rookie stashed on taxi

When a QB has proved that they either can't stay healthy or productive for whatever reason, they're not worth a 1st even in superflex. For me personally, that line is about where you get into the tier of guys like Foles, Carr, Mariota, Flacco, Dalton, Manning, etc.
Kittles Pox | Championships: 2015, 2017
12-Team PPR | QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, W/R/T, K, DST
QB: Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers
RB: Christian McCaffrey, Melvin Gordon, James Conner, Phillip Lindsay, Tevin Coleman, Boston Scott, Benny Snell Jr.
WR: Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans, Cooper Kupp, Michael Gallup, Christian Kirk
TE: George Kittle, Travis Kelce | K: Younghoe Koo | DST: SF
PS: Mecole Hardman, Tony Pollard | 2020 Picks: 1.09, 2.10, 3.03 | 2021 Picks: 1st, 2nd

Agree with these names easily. Carr and Mariota are running out of chances, while the others are just older and not very good... guys that I'd add are Foles, Tannehill, Bortles... No way they are worth 1sts at this point

I'd put guys like Stafford and Rivers on the border due to age (might just be my undervaluing of age as normally I stash better, younger QB and have no use to pay a 1st for an older QB. However, I could see a competitive team paying a 1st in a pinch if a starter went down).

Kind of want to say Rosen isn't worth a 1st but it's a little early for that...

No matter what you think about Darnold, Jackson, Allen, Winston, Dak... They're all worth 1sts in SF

In a 16 team SF QBs are obviously going to be in more demand than a 12 team league.

The OP didnt state what size league they where referring to. In a 8 team league only a couple would be worth a first
