1.01 Advice

Postby Tbrugs » Sun May 19, 2019 8:06 am

Considering my team below, would you say drafting Kyler Murray should be my 1.01 pick? I've been heavily leaning towards N'keal Harry as I do not have any top 25 WRs and just lost some old but goods in Jordy Nelson and Doug Baldwin. Also not high up on Josh Jacobs just because hes going to be a 3 down back right away, I can wait until next year. I'm not very confident in my QBs but I believe they can all improve this season. Thinking long term, I think WRs are more valuable than RBs and not necessarily concerned with the immediate year one impact.

2 QB Superflex WR/RB 0.5 TE 1.0 PPR

QBs: Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins, Lamar Jackson
RBs: Christian McCaffrey, Mark Ingram, Jordan Howard, Carlos Hyde, Nyheim Hines
WRs: Mike Williams, Will Fuller, Marvin Jones, Marqise Lee, DeSean Jackson, Robert Foster, Tim Patrick, Trey Quinn, Josh Reynolds
TEs: Eric Ebron, Zach Ertz, Chris Herndon

With your Squad I'd consider trading back a few spots to grab N'keal, or grabbing Nkeal right there. My league is different and I know the first 3 picks go Jacobs, Montgomery, and then Nkeal. You arent really in need of Jacobs and in my humble opinion, getting Murray at 1 is a reach unless he becomes the next Patrick "Our Savior" Mahomes. The interesting thing about the number 1 pick is that anything goes, a guy in my league traded the 1.1 and golladay for alvin kamara last week to a raiders fan. I tend to attempt to trade back in this years draft as there is tons of value in the 1.5 to 2.1 range.

I had the 1.01 this year in a superflex, had been in love with Harry's talent for the last 3 years, and thought that he was absolutely going to be my pick. However, in the end I just couldn't deny the potential value in taking Kyler Murray with that pick. If he succeeds in that high octane passing offense, coupled with his rushing yards, he could very easily post a top 10 season. If that happens, and I believe it will, he will easily triple in value. At that point I could trade him for Harry plus. It saddens me that I don't have Harry on my roster but I know I did the right thing.

Draft Kyler and trade one of your other QBs. I would get Carr off my team as fast as possible. Too much risk. One more bad season and Gruden will probably draft somebody.

Kyler and Lamar could be a nasty combo down the road a bit.

Have to go Murray 1.01. The ceiling is way too high on Murray to take a WR drafted at 1.32

Solid advice here

Try trading Carr for 1.4/1.5 I haven't seen Harry go before 1.5 in 1 QB leagues. Haskins will most likely be in top 4 in a SF so good chance harry will be there around 1.5 then you can land both
Team 1 (18/19 Champ)
QB- Rivers, Jimmy G, Flacco
RB- LF, Kamara, Henry, Ito, Barber, RoJo, Harris, Brieda,
WR- Hopkins, Evans, Golladay, Foster, McLaurin, Perriman
TE- Kelce, Eifert, Knox, Gronk
Taxi-R Ridley, Love

Team 2 (16/18/19 Champ)
QB- Watson, Goff
RB- Zeke, CMC, Gordon, Chubb, R Freeman, Hunt
WR- MT, M Williams, Kupp, Campbell, Chark, Ross
TE- Henry, Hooper, Andrews

Team 3 (17/18 Champ)
QB- Stafford, Murray
RB- Cook, Gurley, Lindsay, Mixon, Drake
WR- OBJ, Hopkins, TY, Kupp, K Johnson, Parker, Renfrow, Ross
TE- Kittle, I Thomas

Team 4 SF
QB- Wentz, Kelly, Lamar, Brissett, Luck, RG3
RB- Chubb, Cook, KJ, Sony, Montgomery, Gallaman, Sproles
WR- Fuller, Watkins, Sutton, Hollywood, Pettis, Moore, Lee, Funchess, Crowder
TE- Kittle, Henry, Shaheen, LaCosse
Taxi- Gaskins, Love, Harmon, Hurd, Sample

100% Murray in 2QB

Maximus891 wrote: Wed May 22, 2019 8:42 am Try trading Carr for 1.4/1.5
I highly doubt anyone is paying that for Carr. Maybe a late 1st, but even that is iffy.

In theory, this would be amazing...in reality, it ain't happening. Carr was so atrocious this last year, and everyone saw how defensive he was of himself this offseason...calling into talk shows...trying to fight people lol.

With what we've seen from him the last two years and the smoke of Oakland drafting someone this year, no way I'm trading my 1.04 or 1.05 for Carr. If desperate, maybe my 2nd rounder but I don't think it's farfetched to see Carr turn into Tannehill next year...aka a high quality back up.

The first question is how many teams are in the league.

If its 12+ then you draft Murray (or look to trade out of the 1.01).

IF its 10 or fewer then you try to trade the pick and then draft either Harry or Jacobs.

Your team seems to need a rebuild. I'd look to trade Ingram and possibly CMC (if you can get the right value for CMC).
Team #1: 2nd place
12 team, 1 ppr (1.5 te), 1Q,2R,2W,1T,2F,1D,1K

Team #3: back to back champion

Agreed. Yesterday I paid a (projected) late 2020 1st and 3rd for Carr + G. Allison in one of my SF leagues and I felt like it was fair, so a late 1st is probably right in the ballpark.

10 Team, IDP league as well. My defense is pretty solid, won the championship two years ago. Definitely dont think im needing a rebuild, I just dont really know if I trust Kyler Murray as much as I do a WR like Nkeal Harry in the future. I think the Pats have big goals for him now that Gronks gone and they're going big WRs for contested targets.

This is where I'm at with my 1.01 in a SF league. I almost feel like I have no choice but to take Murray or trade out. The potential value can't be denied or passed over. In a SF, it should be Murray at 1.01. The rookie draft is in August and a lot can change between now and then, but I think it unlikely Murray isn't still the1.01, barring injury or some other unforseen disaster.

I think it’s crazy to use that pick for anyone other than Murray. You’d be better off trading it/him for an established WR.
