Just Because: Who Do I take at 1.03 and 1.08?

With my roster below, I currently believe I'm going to stay away from WRs at 1.03. I am thinking of taking DGB if he is still there at 1.08. My concern is that my good friend picks 1.02, 1.04, and 1.06. He is WR needy and I believe the draft will go like this...

1.01 - Gurley (it's set in stone)
1.02 (me) - Gordon
1.03 (me) - Duke Johnson/Coleman/Ajayi?
1.04 - Cooper (same owner as 1.01)
1.05 - Not sure who this guy takes yet
1.06 - DeVante Parker or DGB (same owner as 1.01 and 1.04)
1.07 - Have absolutely zero idea who this guy takes.
1.08 - If DBG is here, do I take him? I am ashamedly in love with him. While I don't need a WR I feel like I'll take him if he's there. Should I pull the trigger if he's available or grab Coleman or Ajayi (or another RB)?

I am going to guess Winston or Mariota go with the 1.05 or 1.07, but I can't be certain.

This is all for speculation purposes of course. I'm just trying to gauge who I should really be looking at with the 1.03 and 1.08. I don't want Amari Cooper. Not even a little.

I'd take Gordon and the top WR on your board at 1.3, then take the top RB left at 1.8.

The difference between the 3-5th best RBs are minimal, and have some bust potential. Take the more sure thing at WR with the 3rd and more than likely you'll still be getting one of Johnson, Coleman or Ajayi at 8.

Then trade Jordy for a RB while you're at it and win!

rather than reach for any of the 3 rbs you list trade back from the 1:3
and with that wr crew I would not hesitate to take DGB if he blows out you will never feel it and if he blows up you win.

Either trade back or draft BPA and trade that player later.

Absolutely great advice. Don't reach for a RB with the 1.03. We only need to look back as far as last year's "RB reach" in Bishop Sankey when you could have landed Odell Beckham with the 1.03

Great advice all around from everyone, I agree.

I was the one that reached on Sankey last year. Ended up getting ODB as a "throw in" while he was still out with an injury.

I agree with everyone's thoughts though. No reason to reach on a RB at 1.03 when one of them will be there at 1.08. I really want Duke Johnson, for whatever reason. I'm not sure what the thought process is on him in my league quite yet, but I'm guessing at least Coleman is thought of as a better back, so he will likely go before 1.08.

Is DGB worth the pick at 1.03? I like DeVante Parker a lot as well, but figure he's gone before 1.08, and I didn't want to spend 1.03 on him. I don't want to spend 1.03 on DGB either, but I really would like to ensure that I get him. The guys in my league aren't huge on trades. At least not when it comes to rookie players. I don't know that I could grab Cooper or Parker and get anyone to trade with me. My buddy that also has 3 picks in the 1st really likes DGB as well. As he picks at 1.04 and 1.06 I anticipate him trying to grab 2 of Cooper/Parker/DGB.
