This kid is obviously great with the ball in his hands. I hope he is paying attention to the 2014 NFL roster cuts, though. Lache Seastrunk was just released by the Redskins because he is atrocious at pass protection and receiving.
Gordon had better learn to at least become a competent blocker this season, it would be great if he can learn to catch as well. So far he gets pulled from nearly all passing downs because he is so bad at protecting the QB.

Yes, it was against Bowling Green, and yes, the Badgers ran for 644 yards, but still impressive numbers on Saturday. Can't wait to see some Big 10 action

Incredible game. Yeah the competiton was weak but if a guy is really, truly a superstar prospect / player you would hope they would be able to really showcase their talent in that setting and did that and then some. Love this kid's potential. Gurley vs. Gordon is going tbe an interesting debate as we inch towards draft day.Butt Liqueur wrote:13 carries

Going to be a fun rookie class to discuss on these forums, for sure.

Especially now that Seastrunk is getting cut from practice squads while guys like Crowell, Blue, and Taliaferro are putting up solid production. Fickle game we play..Butt Liqueur wrote:Crazy that it was Gordon vs. Seastrunk last year...Vendetta wrote:Incredible game. Re: Melvin Gordon
I wouldn't jump boat on Gordon too early i think he could be the next Jammal Charles all he needs to do before the combine and pro day is learn how to pass protect and put on some weight!
Re: Melvin Gordon
Is Seastrunk really even in the same stratosphere as Gordon? Gordon will likely be a first round selection if he keeps this pace up.

First off, you're most likely correct.georg013 wrote:Is Seastrunk really even in the same stratosphere as Gordon? Gordon will likely be a first round selection if he keeps this pace up.
But, let's keep in mind that for the first half of his final college season and even all the way up to the combine and maybe even longer, tons of people, including draftniks, thought Seastrunk was a lock to be at least a 2nd rounder.
Of course we now know that there was some off-field stuff going on with Seastrunk, or at least that's the only explanation for the fact that until he finally made a PS he couldn't seem to get a coach to commit to him.
