Re: Sammy Watkins>Marquise Lee
I see some Pierre Garçon and Torrey Smith in both, and they are all about the same size.

Does anyone have information on Sammy Watkins' drug arrest in 2012? Was it dope or or something else? Reliable (or any) information does not seem to be readily available.

Re: Sammy Watkins>Marquise Lee
I agree somewhat with Cl3vel.. above. I feel the Hakeem Nicks and Crabtree comparisons aren't accurate with Marquis Lee. IMO Marquis Lee is more comparable to Reggie Wayne or Jeremy Maclin, I'd lean towards Maclin as its hard to compare guys to Wayne given his mindset and work ethic. I do expect Lee to go to a great situation and most likely be a top 5 pick by the time 2014 drafts role around. As for Watkins I think he is more comparative to Roddy White or Justin Blackmon (unless Watkins runs in the 4.30s I see him more in this realm, and yes I know Blackmon ran 4.38 @ his pro day but lets be honest he's more a 4.45-4.50 guy). Just my 2 cents.

Re: Sammy Watkins>Marquise Lee
Blackmon is not anything like Watkins. Watkins is an explosive speed merchant. Blackmon is much more of a Dez Bryant type guy.

Re: Sammy Watkins>Marquise Lee
I also think of Torrey Smith with Watkins
Lee does remind me a little of Maclin with some Harvin/Cobb balance after the catch.

Re: Sammy Watkins>Marquise Lee
I agree with most of the above. Iv always viewed them as some combinations of:
Marqise Lee = Hakeem Nicks/Jeremy Maclin with a little Crabtree in that he's not explosive laterally, but he's able to cut left/right well to make a defender miss.
Sammy Watkins = a thicker Torrey Smith with a little Percy Harvin (isn't afraid to lower his shoulder and deliver a hit)

Re: Sammy Watkins>Marquise Lee
Agreed with everything in this thread...at this point I'd likely take WR Sammy Watkins at 1.01 in 2014 dynasty league rookie drafts, in fact. But Marqise Lee is going to be *very* underrated, methinks...and will likely be a late first round steal like Keenan Allen was last year.

Re: Sammy Watkins>Marquise Lee
I'm considering trading multiple early 2014 rookie picks (potentially some or all of the 1.01, 1.02, and 1.03-1.05 ) and am wondering what the value of Watkins, Evans, Lee, and Seastrunck is in terms of current WR or startup picks.
Is Watkins (i.e. the 1.01) worth WR1 value? WR2? What current WR or RB would you trade a top 3 rookie pick for?
If I can get it, should I take WR1 value now, or wait until the draft when the hype is going crazy?

Wait. The closer you get to the draft, the more valuable that becomes as rookie fever really begins to set in.

I would wait the draft picks will be more valuable around rookie draft after players are drafted.

Re: Sammy Watkins>Marquise Lee
Lee has great hands and speed and all. But I don't see #1 WR with him. Falls down almost immediately all the time as soon as he makes his catch. Doesnt like contact for sure and seems to miss a lot of plays with injuries.
I have Watkins over him for sure.

Re: Sammy Watkins>Marquise Lee
At this point in a devy league, what would you be looking to add to a deal to send Lee for Watkins. or just sit tight and wait for draft situations to re-analyze?
Are we talking both as top 25 types but Watkins just a little bit higher or do most of you guys see a tier break between the two?

Way too early to add anything significant to either side. I prefer Lee and would wait to see where the guys land.Bronx Bomber wrote:At this point in a devy league, what would you be looking to add to a deal to send Lee for Watkins. or just sit tight and wait for draft situations to re-analyze?

Is Lee faster than Watkins? Or is it just the way Watkins runs?
