2012 Rookie RBs...
2012 Rookie RBs...
Ive been seeing various RB conversations start up... My question is, how do these guys stack up against each other...
I am a huge LaMichael James fan, but Trent Richardson's talent is AMAZING!
How do you stack some of the top rookies? Are any FAR above the rest?
Rank the top 5-10 Running Backs that should come out this year... Should spark some good debates...

Re: 2012 Rookie RBs...
Wes Bunting from National Football Post just put up an article ranking the top five rookie runners.
I'm surprised he left RB Dan "Boom" Herron off the list, especially since Herron was talked up very highly in the Draft Talk 5.0 podcast with Albert Breer of NFL.com.

Re: 2012 Rookie RBs...
I saw a little of Cyrus Gray last week, he looks pretty impressive. But clearly Richardson is head and shoulders above the rest.

I did hear Richardson on the Dan Patrick Show yesterday something that he was coming back next year to play for Alabama... Maybe he was just being politically correct so he doesn't disturb the team.

Re: 2012 Rookie RBs...
There is always a chance he comes back, but I'd strongly bet against it. He's a smart enough dude to know not to say he's leaving the week before their biggest game of the year. He's also smart enough to take top 10 draft pick money rather than risk an injury when he has kids to take care of.JohnnyFive wrote:I did hear Richardson on the Dan Patrick Show yesterday something that he was coming back next year to play for Alabama... It is a distraction if he was going to say he was leaving after this year so any smart player would say the same thing. I agree...the chances of him returning are very very slim.bobbytheo3 wrote:There is always a chance he comes back, but I'd strongly bet against it. I agree 100%, but it's not impossible. And I see people already posting about trades where they are jockeying for position to get the 1.01 for Richardson. That's a mistake. People did it this time last year thinking Luck would come out (and somehow also thinking he would be worth the 1.01). Let the rookie draft come to you. . .hosler427 wrote:It is a distraction if he was going to say he was leaving after this year so any smart player would say the same thing. Re: 2012 Rookie RBs...
Anyone willing to take Luck at the 1.01 deserved to get burned IMO. I agree that you shouldn't bank on anything but if you are already rebuilding or have extreme depth, I don't think it is a terrible idea to deal for an almost certain 1.1. The likelihood of Richardson returning for another year is less than 5% and he is easily the best RB to come out since Peterson IMO. Like everything...it depends on the circumstances of a deal.tstafford wrote:I agree 100%, but it's not impossible. Re: 2012 Rookie RBs...
True, but I recall reading here somewhere that some undervalue draft picks for next year. Furthermore, the top picks will be highly valued next year, so if you can turn this year's Hillis, whoever you think that is, for a top pick next year, I say strike now, before ppl come to their senses.tstafford wrote:I see people already posting about trades where they are jockeying for position to get the 1.01 for Richardson.
