CSU Rams: System or Good College Receivers (Higgins and Gallup)

Postby turcorox911 » Sat May 26, 2018 7:17 pm

So I thought about this the other day. Higgins in 2015 had the best PFF grade in the country, just like Gallup did in 2017. Neither guy was taken that high, and when you look at the tape, they both did a lot of the same things (screen passes, curls, posts, etc.).

With that said, how much of their college success was due to the system at CSU, and how much of it was due to their own individual talents? Is it more the system, or more their skillset?

Finally, with that said, who did you like better coming out of college? Imagine both came out the same year and were drafted by the same NFL team, who do you think would have the higher dynasty value?

Preston Williams could be in a good spot.

Certainly could be a system thing. We shall see. I don't see a ton of similarities between them tho. Gallup definitely has more athleticism.

Yeah, they're not the most similar prospects. Higgins has a more versatile route tree, but Gallup is more athletic. I like Higgins' hands, and he could pick up a ton of yards after the catch on screen passes. But Gallup's quickness allows him to play outside. Higgins is better suited for the slot, but I guess he can play some outside, so long as he's just running curls, comebacks, in-routes, etc..
