IR for PUP
Re: IR for PUP
PUP players in the NFL have to sit out the first 6 weeks of the season. At that point would it be required to activate them to your team and make a corresponding roster move.
I would like to see what others have to add on this.

I dont have a problem with this. Kindof like the "boomerang" or short-term IR...when the player is activated by his NFL team, you must move him off IR.

I'm good with this. Once the player comes off the PUP list he will have to be activated.

I'll be transparent and say I'm looking at this through my teams lens and Martavis Bryant's situation, what about IR for suspended players?

Re: IR for PUP
I'm not in favor of this. Suspensions have always been part of the game and something you (just like the NFL team) have to work through. It is not a medical situation like the PUP.OnABloodbuzz wrote:I'll be transparent and say I'm looking at this through my teams lens and Martavis Bryant's situation, what about IR for suspended players?

Re: IR for PUP
NFL teams deal with it by placing the guy on the reserve/suspended list and promoting a guy to their 53 to take his place, much like IR and PUP.
Re: IR for PUP
I have no problem using IR for suspended players. NFL teams have a variety of "reserve" roster designations...we have one. I'd be okay with our "IR" being used for ALL of these "reserve" designations.
