Desmond Bishop in Minnesota

Postby dxbarr » Mon Jun 24, 2013 1:17 pm

What are people's thoughts on Bishop signing in Minnesota?

Am I off base in thinking that he has LB1 upside if he can win the MLB job?

From what I have heard it sounds like he should be ready to go for training camp.

I hate to criticize TT because he is one of the best in the business, but this seems like a boneheaded move for the packers. He is only getting 1 year 1.5 million and is way better than any other inside LB in GB.

I definitely think he has LB1 potential. If he is 100%, I see him easily becoming the starting MLB and he has the potential to put up triple digit tackles and a handful of sacks. I should probably rephrase that...but I won't.

LB1 potential yes. Realistically for me, I look at him as an LB2 with upside though.

Might be a good time to buy Greenway if his owner is upset about this move. If the greater majority of the NFL seems to think Bishop's injury is that much of a concern then Greenway could regain his previous value if Bishop does indeed get injured again or shows he's back to himself and moves on next year.

It was my understanding Bishop refused a pay cut which led to his release. If he only received a one year $1.5 mill deal it tells me there could still be lingering issues with the hamstring. A totally ruptured hamstring is concerning. Honestly, if I own Bishop I'm selling while the excitement is high. He has LB1 potential but he has potential to pop his hammy again and be done.
