Young DE studs

Postby HHorsie » Wed Nov 02, 2011 5:04 pm

My league is expanding into an IDP league next year. I know very little when it comes to IDP so I'm doing my homework now and am asking from assistance from some of you. I'm aware that Jason-Pierre Paul is one of those young studs are there any others. Thanks.

Charles Johnson is 25... most of the top guys are close to their 30s though. Carlos Dunlap looked promising but I don't know what happened this season.
Don't bet against Nightmarion...he made me look like a fool :)

I've been happy with rookie Jabaal Sheard so far...

Cliff Avril is someone I'd maybe target too, though the Lions' success is probably getting him more exposure and he'll go earlier than normal.

The guys mentioned at good. I'll add that I think Robert Quinn just might become a beast in the future.

DL takes a little time to get up to speed and learn secondary moves. Great pass rushers in college can get by on their superior athletic ability and one good pass rushing move. In the NFL, then need to adjust to the o-line palyers being much better each week, speed of the game, and (most importantly) learn to become proficient in additional pass rushing moves. This makes young DE's a long term investment that you have to be patient with.

I've been waiting for Chris Avril to break out for years. I like Dunlop as well, but he's stuck in an ugly rotation this year that is basically not getting the most out of him for FF or the Bengals.

^^ Beast

I am one of the few who like Jordan Cameron, NO. Esp in a non-big play tackle heavy league.

I like the two Oakland DEs Houston and Shaughnessy more than most. Too bad "Shag Nasty" landed on the IR after only 3 weeks.

I like M.Williams right now as the price of an IR LB, who could be a 4-3 DE again next year with another team.

Jabaal Sheard and Michael Johnson are two good buy low guys. Of course it depends on the scoring.

Marcel Dareus is becomming interesting as well. Aldon Smith is a must draft in fantrax because he is registered as DL/LB. He is ranked as #13 LB at IDP Guru this week.

He is available in my league...I can not put him on IR since I have 2 players already designated! I have Derrick Morgan wasting time on m y bench, I think I'll make that move and kill a roster spot since there are 2 weeks of playoffs left
