Derrick Brown

As a Panthers fan I am hopeful for a third year breakout from Derrick Brown this year at DT. He will get to play alongside Matt Ioannidis, Daviyon Nixon, Brian Burns, Yetur Gross-Matos, and perhaps Carlos Dunlap if Carolina signs him after that visit. Do you think there is a good chance he breaks out this year and is a good buy-low option if not on the waiver wire already? What do you foresee Brown as over the next 4-5 years? I think his floor is a really good 2 down run defender (which holds no fantasy value in IDP) but has the ceiling to be become a 5-7 sack guy consistently.

Want to hear some unbiased opinions on him, I am only hearing good things out of him so far from Panthers camp!

Yes, as long as he’s cheap he’s a great buy low IMO

That’s a bit unfair to Brown, he atleast improved from year one to year two. Kinlaw barely played last year. Brown may not live up to a top 10 draft pick with gaudy sack numbers but he had 3 last year and can definitely improve with an edge rusher like Brian Burns taking attention from him. And he’s been available.

So Derrick Brown has been having a great season so far. He's definitely got my attention. A lot of passes defended and not enough sacks, but I feel like the sacks will come.

Someone dropped him in my league so he was a free add anyway.
