Cuts and draft target

Postby heydangle » Sun Aug 15, 2021 7:58 am

I’m just showing my defensive side of the ball because I think that’s what could use some help. The points they scored last year is next to them.

Brown, Derrick CAR DT 72.5 13
Clark, Frank KCC DE (Q) 78.0 12
Clowney, Jadeveon CLE DE 42.0 13
Davenport, Marcus NOS DE 43.0 6
Guy, Lawrence NEP DE 92.0 14
Bostic, Jon WAS LB 174.5 9
Cunningham, Zach HOU LB 238.0 10
Edmunds, Tremaine BUF LB 172.5 7
Evans, Rashaan TEN LB 138.3 13
Johnson, Alexander DEN LB 177.5 11
Mack, Khalil CHI LB 131.6 10
Van Noy, Kyle NEP LB 140.0 14
Vander Esch, Leighton DAL LB 82.5 7
Butler, Malcolm ARI CB 180.0 12
Henderson, CJ JAC CB 62.5 7
Collins, Landon WAS S 69.0 9
Jenkins, Malcolm NOS S 172.5 6
Reid, Justin HOU S

Who would you cut? (Need two but could cut offensive players too)
Also who would you target at 2.07?

How big is the league, and what are the starting requirements? Also, though you gave last year’s points scored, it’s not immediately obvious to me whether the scoring makes players like Van Noy and Khalil Mack relevant with LB designations. Without knowing any of that, CBs usually make for easy cuts.

24 team but 2 copies of each player. Start one DT, one DE 1 CB 1 safety and 2-4 linebackers. Mack isn’t a difference maker in this format.

I’d still easily cut the two CBS first. The next two on my list would be the Pats—Lawrence Guy and Kyle Van Noy. Van Noy is only useful in leagues that use edge as the DE/OLB classification.

LBs should be your focus since that’s the only position where you start more than 1.

I’ve been regularly grabbing Jamin Davis as the second or third rookie LB off the board. I’d pass on DTs and DEs unless you have big enough rosters to let them sit for the year. The safety class this year is pretty underwhelming.

Yeah we have 40 rosters spots and start 17 so not a lot of room to wait for players. Depending on the board I might go linebacker

You need to start a corner so I would keep butler but wpuld generally run 1 Cb so would cut Henderson. Next probably van noy.
