How about Davion Taylor?

I mean, the Eagles have a lot of jags on their roster.

Sure, he’s worth a late round stab for sure.

I think you may end up cutting him a couple weeks into the season though, he is very raw and idk how many snaps he will see this year.

I'm guessing these rankings are for tackle heavy scoring leagues?

In big play leagues the edge rushers should creep up the list.

Well, I have Chaisson ranked as a DL in the hopes that he gets the DE tag.

That’s about it in terms of high end edge LBs taken highly in the draft. Terrell Lewis is the one guy who landed in a spot with high enough capital that I probably should have ranked him on this list (in the last tier)

I don’t want to draft a project LB. If you’re not ready to get on the field for LB4 production or better in your first season, I don’t want to spend draft capital on you when I can pick up guys off waivers who will get me LB4 production.

Unfortunately, last year I did rank (and ended up owning) a couple different LBs who ended up staying as projects for most of the year - Okereke and Tavai. I didn’t expect them to stay as raw as they did in their rookie years.

yep, there's nothing worse than spending draft capital on a d player then cutting them after a couple of goose egg weeks at the beginning of the season.

i will only be taking lewis if i can put him on a taxi squad.

What about Malik Harrison? Third round pick and is listed on Ourlads as the starting WLB for the Ravens.

Walker in Atlanta looks like a nice sleeper, like him behind Jones. Strand in Denver could be a nice stash and lastly I like Hudson's athleticism in DC. He has some Adrian Wilson in him the way he get after the QB from the secondary.

Yes, I do like him quite a bit towards the latter part of a rookie draft (IDK if he has the athletic range to be a 3-down LB, but will definitely see playing time)

What are yalls thoughts on Davion Taylor? Is he worth a roster spot. Went undrafted in rookie draft. OLB do pretty good in this scoring format im in, as TJ Watt was a top 10 overall scorer last year including offense. (Unless that’s the norm for all leagues, I’m not sure)

A couple of guys have asked about Taylor. He’s dropping to the bottom (or out of) FF drafts for a reason, despite PHI spending 3rd round draft capital on him. The guy is one hell of an athlete and he’s very willing with a high motor and enthusiasm. His problem is that he doesn’t have instincts or a deep understanding of the game. He gets into bad spots, puts his head down when he should be hunting, allows blockers to get into him and surrenders angles. He’s also pretty light for a pro LB. He is so far behind in the learning/experience/instincts curve that I don’t know if he can ever catch up to the NFL level and be more than a rotational player/special teamer. This guy could be very valuable to a NFL team in that role, but that doesn’t help his FF value much.

If you’ve got deep benches or large practice squads, he could be a guy that would sit on your bench for at least a couple of years and see if he can make up that much ground and be able to take on a regular NFL role. It’s going to take a lot of patience.

Taylor was a day 2 pick because of his athletic upside but yeah, he’s not ready to start anytime soon

Have you had a chance to look at Troy Dye or Justin Strnad? Both are taller LB with great range for coverage duties. Do you see Dye replacing the expensive Barr? And with Strnad being 6-3 245 would Denver look at him at OLB or is he strictly an ILB? Defiantly more athletic than AJ Johnson. Thoughts?

I'll be honest, I don't know anything about Strnad - but AJ Johnson didn't pay like a fluke last year, he may be the real deal (a la Littleton a couple years ago)

Dye is exciting, yes - I started following him a couple years ago and even wrote a blurb or 2 about him then. Insanely fun highlight reels.

I believe he is still too raw to look at starting this year, but a fun stash in deep leagues

Would you rather have Simmons or Queen in tackle heavy leagues?
