Chase Young at 1.10

Postby Dunville » Thu Apr 30, 2020 3:28 am

Team 1 sig,

Hi so I play in a pretty deep IDP league.

I have the 1.10 and Young will be available.
It's not massively big play and more tackle heavy but DEs score well

Hunter scored 257 its as DE1
Ngakoue scored 186 as DE10

Do I take Young at 1.10 given I'm not deep at DE or take my best offensive player?
He won't make it past 1.12/2.01

For reference in previous drafts Bosa's have gone 1.09 I their respective years drafts, Garrett 1.06 but its almost impossible to recoup value on DEs if that makes sense.

Thanks

Where did Hunter and some others compare with other rb's and wr's? A lot will depend on whose available, so bpa but try to incorporate where idp's fit in? I have 1.09 but we have 12 points for sacks, so elite DE's are gold. No way Young makes it to me, but he'd be an easy choice for me if he makes it that far

FWIW, I took Simmons at 1.07 & Young at 1.09 ... I traded down from 1.03 to 1.09 & picked up a 2021 #1. I was hoping to pick up a third #1 to grab a WR, but overall I'm pretty happy.

As for the rest of Round #1: Murray went at 1.11 & Queen went at 1.12. So 4 IDPs in a 16 team league.

IMO, there's not too much depth for IDP this year, so I think the top tier IDP guys are worth a little premium over other years.

So he finished 36th overall in scoring Leornard Fournette finished 32nd with 260pts and Chubb 37th with 255

I agree with the bolded statement 100%. I traded up for Young in my 16 team league and attempted to trade up for Simmons (who eventually went 21st).

He's someone who will be in your lineup for the next decade. A solid pick at this point. I also agree there will be about 4 idps taken in the first 2 rounds of most 12 team idp leagues, and he's at the top of the list, especially looking at your starting requirements.

Young just went at 1.02 in my 16-team league with 24 starters (2 DE). Fwiw, I think it's a massive reach.
Just a guy who loves fantasy football - specifically defense.

There is nothing wrong with taking the more likely steady starter at a weaker position than rolling the dice on a skill position player.

Can't fault you but deep IDP leagues like yours (and mine) I'm taking one of the WRs that's likely to be available.
