Brian burns

Postby Sfoster2625 » Mon Jan 20, 2020 3:30 am

Ended up trading for nick bosa and I’m thinking about targeting young with my 2.11(we have flex spots which would allow me to start 2 de). Should I try to trade him for a 2020 pick or just hold in case I don’t get young? What would be his value in 2020 picks in a league where de scoring is on par with wr scoring?

Cool. Is that equivalent to WR 61? RB 34? Like ThunderTung mentioned, we need comparisons to help. We don't know if 10ppg is great or terrible or somewhere in between....

It’s equivalent to wr 20-30. Ppg difference is by decimal places in those rankings

As a Panthers fan I like Burns, but for fantasy I'm not sure. I drafted him at the end of the 3rd round in a 16 team league and then traded him for a 2020 3rd and Derek Barnett before his production dropped off due to decreased snaps. I had long term concerns that he'd be an OLB, but with the Panthers new DC (who apparently likes to run a 4-3) I'm not sure if that should still be a concern. This year will be interesting. Could be a good buy-low if you have the roster space.

If you are having to use flexes to start 2 DEs I would probably be willing to move burns for any 3rd and I really like burns. There are always going to be designation questions with him which in a flex doesnt matter unless DEs get bonuses in your league over LBs. Also, he is likely to be more rotational that many DEs reducing his tackle floor

It’s not that they really get bonuses. Each defensive position is scored differently. Edge players whether they’re lb or de are the highest scorers

If it is big play oriented where edge players have an advantage then that adds some value to Burns. I still would value him much lower than where I would value Young who I think will be a full time player but probably would put him slightly above wherever the next edge player would be selected. This probably pushes him up into the higher 3rd range
