Expansion Draft with IDP (Unusual Scenario)

Postby pack4ever22 » Sat Jan 04, 2020 5:18 pm

My league has an interesting scenario going on where we are expanding to 12 teams this year (from 10). The expansion draft is coming up and we can protect 16 players. The rest of my players go into the expansion pool and I can lose as many as 5 players. Pretty standard scoring overall with 1 QB and half PPR, one pt per tackle, 5pt for sack, 6 for pick. Three of my bubble players who are currently on the outside looking in are Tremaine Edmunds, Roquan Smith, and Fred Warner. I absolutely hate to lose any of them but not sure if I can justify keeping any of them over my current protects. Keep in mind a defensive player has never gone in the first round in this league (Chase Young likely changes that) My current protects are:

Patrick Mahomes
Derrick Henry
Le'Veon Bell
Leonard Fournette
Kenyan Drake (I feel like he forced my hand at the end of the season)
Tyreek Hill
Allen Robinson
DK Metcalf
Marquise Brown
Zach Ertz
Danielle Hunter
1.5
1.6
2021 1st
2022 1st
2022 1st

Would you keep any of the three LB's over this list of protected players? If so, who would you give up to save a LB?

imo i'd much rather have smith than hunter, if your looking to get rid of an offensive player i'd say that arob would probably be my choice. end of the day depends on the depth you have at your other positions

Smith took a big step back this year, not sure how you keep him over the DL1 overall... give me Hunter and it's not close to me. LBs can be found on the waiver wire.

Roquan will be a tough loss, but like TB3falcons said, LBs can be found everywhere. Players like Hunter are very hard to find. It looks like the guys you have protected is a solid list.

yea, LB's can be found everywhere, but LB's that avg 12+ a game and are consistent arent. guess it depends on your scoring but ill always value LB way more than DL in my league

I like your list. I’m keeping Hunter over any LB in my leagues. You can make up more ground at LB than you can finding another DE comparable to Hunter IMO. He is basically the DE1 and at a more scarce position.
